Chapter One
Hundreds of human Earth years ago, people couldn't have possibly imagined what life would be like for their future descendants so far into the future. They could have only guessed at the technology that we would now have available to us, it would have totally blown their tiny, primitive minds.
You would have thought that with all the extra knowledge and advanced technology, life would have been happier, easier and much more peaceful. You would have hoped that mankind had learned from its previous mistakes, but sadly that was not the case.
For the illegal, half alien known as Tatts, life now really sucked the big one. She had lived her entire life (if you could actually call it that) imprisoned in a small room shared with thirty-five other underage alien orphans and young offenders. She had never even seen the rest of the spaceship that she had been born on.
Tatts envied the lives of ancient humans who had lived on Earth all that time ago, they'd had so much more freedom and less stricter rules. Life was simpler back then and many would say more preferable and happier, of course this was way before it all went tits up on them.
Earth didn't even exist anymore, it was currently floating around the solar system in itsy-bitsy pieces along with all the other space junk debris. After being ruined by foolish mankind and completely destroyed by terrible natural disasters.
First there had been a mass extinction of thousands of vital plant and animal species. Not to mention the global warming issues that the stupid governments seemed to like ignoring back in the day, which caused countless natural disasters.
The doomed former human home word had become so heavily overcrowded that there was mass wars over valuable remaining resources. Many people were killed in the vicious fighting or simply died of dehydration in the dusty, dried up, dying world.
By far the rotten cherry on top of the incredibly, shitty cake was the news a big-ass asteroid was headed their way to obliterate the planet. The devastation would be like a giant's foot stomping on a sandcastle, but unlike a sandcastle there was no hope of ever rebuilding.
Naturally, the only place to escape their impending doom and start over in a new life had been outer space. Only a select few, important, intelligent 'chosen ones' were deemed fit to be saved from destruction, in what would later be called The Great Space Migration.
Most of world's population was dramatically killed off by not receiving one of these so called 'golden tickets'. The remaining survivors from all different countries decided to join forces to pool together their precious resources for the benefit of all, to form The United Space State Alliance.
In the final decades on life on their former home world, before the big-ass asteroid wiped them out. Seven absolutely humongous space stations on scale never seen before were built to house the refugees in space.
Each ship was named after the old continents of Earth, as a little reminder of where they had come from. They were about the size of a large city with everything you could ever possibly need to survive a life among the stars.
Not everyone lived on board one of these space stations, some civilian workers went on to set up homes in small colonies on friendly, habitable alien planets. Where they farmed for a living to provide fresh produce they were not able to grow in the hydroponics departments and raise animals.
The largest space station was the S.S Europa, which was also referred to sometimes as The Mothership. It served as the main headquarters of the United Space State Alliance and was in charge of all the whole fleet.
