Taehyung wakes up feeling weird. His back isn't hurting like usual and his tail doesn't feel stiff from laying on the ground. The hybrid opens his eyes and furrows his eyebrows once he sees the room he's in.
This isn't the room I fell asleep in?
When he places his hands to push him off the surface he realizes he's on a bed, the fluffy mattress bouncing underneath him. He quickly looks around to see if Jungkook is in the bed with him but it's empty.
Where is that silly human?, Taehyung thinks to himself when he rubs his eyes all kitten like.
His feet patter against the cold floor, dragging his tail across of it. The hybrid's ears perk up once he catches the amazing smell of fish in the morning. He giggles from the scent and runs up to Jungkook who's making breakfast. The younger heard the sound of feet coming closer and looks up into the hopeful eyes of the boy eyeing the pan.
"This is for you", Jungkook smiles as he sees Taehyung's eyes widen in happiness.
"Thank you Jungkook!", the hybrid grins brightly making his tail sway around swiftly.
"You're welcome. Can you put the plates on the table while I finish this?", he asks and sees the boy nod excitedly, running up to the plates already on the kitchen island. He decks the table in a short matter of time and waits next to the table.
"You can sit down, you know?", Jungkook senses the hesitation of the older boy.
"C-can I?", the boy asks hopeful, dragging the chair backwards so he could sit on it.
"Of course! Chairs are made to be sit on", the black haired male grins, putting the pan down on the table.
"By humans", Taehyung mumbles and after seeing Jungkook's confused look he sighs, "That's what my master says".
Jungkook drops the salmon on Taehyung's plate, "Well you're master can say what he wants, but this is my house so my rules. Cute cat boys can sleep in beds and sit on chairs. How does that sound? Are those good rules?"
Taehyung nods his head, gulping down the fish. His cheeks are a soft shade of pink from the sneaky compliment.
"Are we going to look for my master today?", the hybrid asks once they finished breakfast.
"If you want to, yeah. We'll go right away", Jungkook smiles, even though it's a forced one, already knowing his 'master' won't show up.
"Yay!", Taehyung beams, "I'll go put my old clothes on then!"
Jungkook wants to stop him but the boy is already back to the bathroom where his clothes were drying. The weather is too cold for those type of clothes but if Taehyung wants to wear them then it's his choice. Jungkook grabs a big sweater and throws it to the hybrid when he runs back out in his old attire.
"At least put on a sweater", he explains, "I don't want you to get cold".
Taehyung nods and pulls on the oversized sweater, grabbing the sleeves in his hands.
"I'm ready to go!", he smiles, tugging at Jungkook's hand to go outside. Jungkook chuckles at the boy's eagerness, hoping it was for something else than going back to the man that abandoned him. If he had to be entirely honest: he wished for Taehyung to stay with him. But he knew the hybrid wouldn't want to.
Jungkook led the hybrid outside to the place he found him last night. Taehyung looks around the place, his face hopeful and gleaming, waiting for his master to come. Jungkook sits down on the bench close to the waiting place and looks at the time. It was now 11:30 am. How long until Taehyung gives up?
14:50
15:20
17:45
19:30
"Taehyung", Jungkook sighs, feeling his stomach growl for the hundredth time that day, "I think we should-".
"No", Taehyung croaks out, clenching his teeth to stop his voice from breaking, "He'll come".
"At least let me take you to get some food. We don't want you to be too skinny when you meet your master, do we now?", Jungkook extends his hand towards the brown haired boy.
"No we don't", Taehyung mumbles, looking to the ground with tears forming in his eyes. He shyly slips his hand into Jungkook's warm one, feeling the tingles buzz through him. He looks up to Jungkook but shrieks when he sees the younger looking back at him with a warm smile.
The youngest of the two decides to visit the nearest starbucks, buying them sandwiches and hot chocolate milk. While Taehyung is munching on his food and drinking his warm milk he hears a familiar voice coming from the seats behind him.
Master?
His heart jumps in joy but quickly drops when he hears what his master is talking about.
"So I told him I would be back to pick him up"
"And?", another male asks.
"I never did obviously. The kid is probably still waiting for me on that exact same spot", his master chuckles like he has the time of his life imagining his hybrid freezing in the cold.
"Why did you let go of such an obedient kitty?", the other male asks curiously.
"Because he was too innocent to my liking. My other dog hybrid Jin threatened to bite of my leg if I ever tried touching him inappropriately", his master grumbles, "I hate to admit he had a perfect body and he listened to my every command. But he was so annoying. If I can't have him that way, then why have him in the first place?"
Taehyung lets out a broken sob at the words of his master, or ex-master. Jungkook looks up from his drink to see the hybrid shaking uncontrollably, his face already tear streaked.
"What's wrong T-"
"L-Let's go home Jungkook", Taehyung says emotionless, dropping the cup on the table and shoving his sandwich away. He stands up and walks out quickly, afraid his master would see him as this pathetic mess.
Jungkook doesn't know what's going on, the only thing he heard was Taehyung saying 'home' and it made his heart beat somewhat louder.
