The Mission To Wave

"Is everyone in position?" Naruto heard Anko ask,

"Hai," they all replied, "approximately 5 meters apart from the target, we have her surrounded sensei."
"Good, now 3... 2... 1... ATTACK!" She yelled, and they all sprung into action, jumping forward and latching onto the figure in front of them.

They scrambled around in a small tussle before the group broke apart panting, two with scratches littering their body and one with a purring cat in his arms. They all sighed in relief seeing that the demon cat had been tamed.

"I don't understand why you insist on doing this Tora, you are such a sweet cat, you shouldn't run away and scratch people." Naruto said, breaking the silence. Tora looked up at him with an annoyed look on her face and meowed. He sighed and pet her head before they all headed off to the hokage's office to receive their pay for the mission.

When they got there there was a woman they hadn't seen before standing by the hokage. When they walked in her face brightened and she ran over to Naruto, scooping Tora out of his arms and engulfing her in a bone crushing hug. Tora let out a dissatisfied yowl as the woman started telling her to stop leaving her.

Naruto walked up to them gingerly and placed a hand on the ecstatic woman's arm. She looked over at him and perked up a bit, "aren't you one of the children who brought my Tora back to me? Thank you, I can never understand why she always runs away from home."

Naruto spoke cautiously, "You must be Tora's owner. If I may, it seems that your cat does not like being held in that way. If you would loosen your arms just a bit and allow her some room to stretch she might stay in her home. " the woman looked slightly confused. He stepped a bit closer and took Tora in one arm, who started to purr slightly, and adjusted the woman's arms in a cradle like fashion before lifting up Tora and placing her on them, where she let her tail wag as she purred louder. The woman looked awestruck at the cat's sudden tameness and immediately started thanking Naruto before turning back to her cat and asking for forgiveness, which she was given as Tora rubbed up against her arm. She left the building after thanking him again with tears in her eyes.

Naruto turned back and his teammates were staring at him, looking dumbfounded. The hokage cleared his throat and caught their attention.

"Well then, you will receive your payment for completing the Tora retrieval mission. The other D-ranks for the day include: washing the inuzuka dogs, painting the worn fences in the east square of kohona, babysitting the childr-" he was cut off by Anko, "I apologize for interruption hokage-sama, but I believe that my team is ready for their first C-rank, if you could allow one, that is."

The hokage cleared his throat again as they perked up.
"Well, we normally wouldn't give a C-rank to such new genin teams, but if your sensei believes that you could handle it I will give one to your team; however, I am going to assign you with another team, a joint mission if you will." They all listened interested and Anko spoke, "thank you hokage-sama, which team will be accompanying us?"

The hokage cracked a small smile, "team 7 will be accompanying you on your mission, which is to guard and watch over a bridge builder from the Land Of Waves, named Tazuna. " he turned to his Anbu guards, "please bring me genin team 7, led by Kakashi Hatake."

Naruto was slightly surprised that they managed to pass his entrance test. And minutes later the door opened to reveal team 7. Naruto had kept his henge down, so when they walked in they stared at him owlishly. "Team 7, you will accompany team 10 on a C-rank mission to the Land Of Waves guarding a bridge builder named Tazuna. Bring Tazuna in please. " he spoke; first to team seven and then to his Anbu guard.

An older man came stumbling into the room and glanced over them, reeking of sake. Naruto winced and looked at the hokage, who mouthed, 'sorry'. He knew that Naruto had a horrible history with drunks, why oh why couldn't it have been a different mission?
