They all watched as Naruto left the house. Kakashi turned to Inari, "You took that too far kid, way too far." Inari started to tear up, and he ran upstairs to his room.

Kakashi and Anko both looked back at the door before solemly returning back to their meal. Shikamaru was about to stand up, "don't." Kakashi said, "right now its best if he's left alone. He'll come back, he just needs to cool down."
Shikamaru hung his head a bit and resumed eating.

Tsunami spoke up, "I-I'm very sorry for what Inari said, he's been like this ever since his father died and he doesn't really understand."
"It's okay," Anko said, "Naruto will forgive him soon enough. But your child could've resurfaced memories that he wanted to forget, and he won't be coming back until he finds a way to push them back down."
"Wh- what kind of memories?" Sakura asked, a little scared to know the truth.
Shikamaru spoke suddenly, "he has scars," he looked up from his food and straight at the two jounin, "he doesn't know I saw and I don't think he wants any of us to know. But I would really like to know about where those came from."
Everyone stared at him and then at Anko and Kakashi.
"It- it really isn't our place to tell you."
Anko said looking at Kakashi.

"I mean, we could give them some things," Anko suggested, her voice cracking a bit, "but wouldn't that still be counted as telling them stuff that he might not want them to know?"
Kakashi shook his head, "I don't- I don't know. He might have to tell them the worst bits sooner or later, and wouldn't it help if they at least had some knowledge of his life?"
Anko took a ragged breath and nodded at Kakashi, telling him to say what he thought was necessary.
Kakashi took in a deep breath before he started to speak slowly and carefully.

"Naruto was born on October 10th, the night of the Kyuubi attack. His father had been one of Kohona's greatest shinobi and was on the frontlines assisting in attacking and holding back the nine-tails. His mother was also a great kunoichi, but she was pregnant at the time, and the stress of the attack sent her into a premature labor. She gave birth to Naruto, but died before she could even hold him." Sakura gasped at this and Akamaru whimpered. "His father managed to do a great deal of damage to the kyuubi," Kakashi's voice shook a little, he hated lying about Naruto's father, "but he intercepted a claw before it could stab a frightened civilian, and he died on the spot."

Sakura and Kiba looked close to tears, Shino's and Sasuke's faces were showing sadness, and Shikamaru spoke up again, "That's a lie, I know that Naruto is the son of the fourth." The genin in the room, as well as Tsunami and Tazuna, gasped.

Kakashi winced and hung his head. "Yes, Shikamaru, you are correct. Naruto's father was the fourth, and he gave up his life to kill the Kyuubi. Naruto's first day of living was spent held by a single nurse as a war raged around him, and he grew up in the orphanage, but was thrown out at the age of four for reasons that I can't say. The orphanages were having trouble paying for and tending to all of the children that needed to be sheltered there at the time, but thankfully with the help of the third Naruto managed to get an apartment, which he still lives in today. There is much more I can't say about his life, but he will tell you when he feels that he can trust you wholeheartedly." Kakashi finished.

Anko looked like she was about to cry, and Kakashi looked more tired than they had ever seen. Kakashi went over to Anko, "hey come on, lets go back upstairs, he'll be fine, he's always fine." He said to her as he lifted her up off the floor and up the stairs, and they could hear her sob out, "But he's not! And I can't help him!" And Kakashi replied with a broken sounding, "I know." before the door clicked shut and any other words they might've heard were drowned out by the sobs that were muffled by the door.

Scene change-

Naruto sat on the small dock with his feet in the water as he stared at the reflection of the moon. The chakra presence was getting closer and closer before it was right next to him, and he glanced over, already knowing who it was.
