        Yay, a new school year. Who's idea was it to start on a thursday anyways? Have I mentioned I hate the beginning of any school year? For one: you have to come out every time you turn around, for two: half the teachers are like "Alright kids, introduce yourself!" (What is this, preschool?), three: the counselor gets a shit ton of schedules wrong and then us; as the students have to go in on our own time to get them fixed, four: school pictures, enough said, moving on.

          I threw on a baggy white t-shirt with bright green jeans, brushed my thick-ass waist long brown hair, grabbed my phone, my backpack, my purse, and a bagel and headed out the door. One thing I love about waking up at 5:45 on an August morning is the cool (but not crisp), humid breeze blowing over my face as I stroll across the two blocks between my house and the bus stop.

          I checked the time (6:05) before sitting down to wait the ten minutes till the bus came. These ten minutes were rather uneventful as the 3 other kids who live near my bus stop wandered up. The bus pulled up, we piled in wherever we pleased, and I wandered through my thoughts for most of the ride.

          The rest of the morning went exactly as I expected, and lunch was no exception either. My sixth period class, however.... that was different.  It was Theatre Art No. 3 with Mrs.Hathicton. I wandered in and sat next to this geeky looking kid with strawberry blonde hair.

"Hey, I'm Phillip." Strawberry grinned at me.

"Oliva, ze pronouns please."

"You're non binary?" 

"Agender."

"I'm pan. What grade are you in?"

"I'm a"- The tardy bell rings.-"Senior."

  Mrs.Hathicton interrupted everyone's introduction and gossip with a cheery "Good after noon." She then got into our pretest for this year: a 6 minute original monologue due in 2 and half weeks. Her voice droned on for about three minutes and then we started writing. The bell rang and I went about my day but I couldn't stop thinking about Phillip.
