    Our morning coffee stirred me from my ugly beauty sleep. I brushed my hair from the ends up and stumbled down the stairs and shuffle to the kitchen. Oh my god, crêpes.  Mom's crêpes are absolutely delectable. I wonder what kind of crêpes those are.

   "Yo Mom, what kind of crêpes are those?" I asked.

    "Cream cheese, strawberries and rhubarb."

    I piled 5 crêpes on my plate and turned our espresso into a latte. I sat next to Mom and looked at her then back at my plate. She snorted.

    "You're welcome. So what are you doing today?"

     "I think I'm going to take a walk through the park then bicycle over to that one thrift shop next to the movie theatre."

    "No wonder you can eat like that and not gain an ounce of weight. Are you sure you don't want a car for your birthday?"

    "I like biking. You get to smell, hear and see everything along the way."

   "What about when it's hot?"

   "Then I've got an excuse to show off. When it's hot, I'm hot."

     "Nobody's hot when they're sweaty."

     "Sweating is for wimps."

      "Don't talk about yourself that way."

     "Mom."

      "What. Hey before I leave for work you want see my latest masterpiece?"

      "You know I do."

      She dug into her purse and pulled out a paper bag and handed it to me. Anxious to see what magic she'd spun this time, I dig into the bag hands first and it feels like Christmas. My fingers brush across silk like fabric as they scoop the contents out. I am now holding a bright green push up bra with hot pink fishnet supported by four green straps with pink ones in the middle of each side and a choker style green neck.

    "Mom, this is gorgeous."

    "There's more."

    I dig in the bag again and acquire something lacey. The panties are green cheekys with pink bows down the center.

   Mom takes them back and puts them in the bag.

     "Aright honey, I gotta go. Smell you later."

      "Bye mom."

      I finished eating, threw on some jeans and purple t-shirt and clipped my house keys to my waist band. Then my phone chirped.
