"another drink please." jinwoo asked drowsily. the bartender gave him another glass filled of beer. "sir, it's getting late.. d-didn't you have enough drinks already?" the bartender asked. "no.. i'm okay." jinwoo said with a laugh.
he's drunk alright. "don't you know how much it hurts to know your bestfriend will never love you?" he asked. "it hurts.. a lot." he pouted.
the bartender sighed and grabbed his phone. he called the first number that was on his recents and waited for jisoo to answer.
it was already late at night and jisoo was on her way home. the boy's schedule was finished for the day and she was free to go. her phone rang, and she answered it, thinking it was jinwoo.
"jinwoo?" she answered. "ahh, hello. this isn't jinwoo. i'm a bartender at a bar your friend is at. he's really drunk and i think you should pick him up." he said. "oh, what bar?" she asked. "uhm, i'll text you the address." he said. "okay, thanks." she said and hung up.
"geez, i don't get paid enough for this job." the bartender mumbled.
not even a minute, she got the text. she then decided to dial youngjae's number while she made her way there.
"youngjae! i know it's late and you're probably already tired but- ugh, jinwoo's drunk and he's in the bar and i think i'll need help in getting him home.." she said. "ohh, okay. what's the address?" he asked. "the place isn't far from where i'm now. i'll send it to you." she said and hung up.
she forwarded the text to him and ran to the bar. it didn't took long when she got there. the place was almost already empty too, so it wasn't hard to spot jinwoo who was sitting by the bar chair.
"jinwoo." she called. "are you jisoo? i was the one who called earlier. will you be okay bringing him home?" the young bartender asked. "yeah. i asked someone too to help me out." she said and he nodded. "okay." he said and made his way to the staff lounge as he started preparing to close the place, which leaves jisoo, jinwoo, and a bunch of old men sitting in the other side of the room.
"hey you." one of the old men called. jisoo looked at them and saw two, three, four of them walking towards her. "what's your name?" he asked.
jisoo gave them a weird look and glared. "excuse me?" she asked. the other guy smirked and laughed. "you're pretty cute, huh?" he asked. "why don't you.. come with us, pretty girl?" he asked.
the man grabbed her arm and jisoo kept screaming at the man to let her go. "let me- go!" she shouted. the bartender heard her scream and immediately came out.
poor kid though, didn't expect to get pointed at with a gun by those old men. there was nothing he could do.
"can you stay still!?" the guys shouted at jisoo. he kept his grip at her strongly, hurting jisoo's arm. "i said- let me go!" she shouted as she strongly stomped on his foot. "ah!" the man shouted, but he still didn't let go of her arm. he pushed jisoo to the wall and trapped her between his arms.
"yah! what do you think you're doing to her!?" a familiar voice shouted.
they looked at the guy standing by the door and laughed. "and who the heck are you?" the man asked. youngjae walked towards them and smirked. "it's none of your business." he said.
he pushed the man and grabbed jisoo's wrist, pulling her to the side. "yah! you're the one who has no right to interrupt with our business!" the man shouted.
he was towering over youngjae, thinking he could immediately bring him down. youngjae shot them a glare at him and his eyes immediately changed to the color yellow, surprising the man. "what the-?! d-did your eyes just-" the man stuttered.
"that guy's not a human! we better get out of here!" the other man whispered to the other guy, which was enough for only them, not including jisoo, to hear.
"if you place your filthy hands on my girlfriend again, i swear to god i'll make you regret it." youngjae said firmly.
"aish- fine, you win you ugly dog." the man said as his gang left the bar. the bartender sighed in relief, glad that he didn't get shot. meanwhile jinwoo, was fast asleep as all of this happened. "i really need to get a new job." the bartender said.
the three left the place and stayed outside as they waited for a cab. youngjae looked at jisoo and saw that she was still at shock from what happened.
he slowly placed his hands on her shoulder and made her face him. jisoo immediately bursted out crying and he knew she was just holding it in. "y-youngjae..." she cried.
he brought her closer to him and let her cry. she wrapped her arms around him and cried on his chest.
"it's okay.. i'm here for you. i'll protect you from now on.." he said, as he kissed the top of her head.
