Jax was 7 years old; Staring at the sky. The clouds moved silently across the high blue canvas. His friend Shilo, only a few months older than him, sat cross-legged next to Jax. They both gazed at the sun and clouds above.

They also both saw Shilo's parents holding paws, but at the time, they didn't quite know what meant. Until later.

Jax's brothers, Eris and Malem, were at a slightly older friend's house, Max's.

It was perfect. Peaceful.

Until it happened.

Almost in an instant, Jax's house behind them burst into flames and exploded with a force so powerful it instantly knocked Jax unconscious.

Everyone was knocked over on their backs or fronts. Jax's mother stood up immediately in fear and terror and grabbed her cell phone whilst shaking.

She called the fire department and hung up. Afterwards she ran towards Jax and held him in her paws whispering and stuttering over and over, "My baby, my baby..."

Shilo lied down in a fetal position after witnessing the horror behind him. There were no sign of his parents anywhere.

He cried and screamed, over and over, slamming his small paws on the side of his head. He was then pulled over a bit into Jax's mother's arms and he cried into her forearm. His tears streamed down his cheeks.

All three of them cried in place and waited for the ambulance and firetrucks to arrive.

Jax vision went dark. He faintly heard the sound of sirens as he fell asleep for a long time...
