Outside, the sun was burning him like a metal slide in the middle of summer. Jax was rolled towards the inside of the ambulance.

Rona sat next to him inside, leaning against his shoulder. The nurse boarded the ambulance and sat next to her. She reached for Rona's paw and attempted to intertwine her fingers with Rona's.

Rona took her paws away from under the nurse's.

"Sorry, nurse..." She kept leaning against Jax, smiling and rubbing the side of her face on him, "I'm looking for someone else..."

The nurse looked away and sat in silence. The air was tense and awkward now.

5 minutes have passed and the ambulance has arrived at the rehab building. The back doors opened and Jax had to bear the blinding sunlight once more.

Once they were in the building, the temperature cooled down significantly. Rona walked too closely and she tripped and almost fell down. She recovered and arrived at the end of the hall into a small recovery office with Jax.

A black wolf sitting across the room seemed to be trying to look tough, but it failed in a matter of minutes. Jax kept staring at him even after he was moved to the office bed. His eyes. They were different. One was red. One was blue.

Rona sat in the couch next to Jax's bed.

The black wolf looked up at Jax. Jax looked away and started nervously sweating.

"Hey," He started, "The name's Jack; What're you in for?"

Jax looked around and found blank sheets of copy paper and a pen. He picked it up and crudely wrote "Can't talk".

He reviewed it and flipped the paper to show the young, black wolf the message.

"Oh, interesting. You see, I can't move my right arm."

Jax smiled, lied back, and sighed raspily. Nurse Cassie returned.

"It's time to be transferred to your rehabilitation room."

Jax noded his head and let her roll him out of the room. Rona followed.
