Jax's Backstory - {Unabridged} - Year 1

Part XIV

  Jax sat very close to Rona. They held each other's paws.

  Rona leaned on his right Shoulder. Her face was stubborn and worried.

  "Don't worry," Jax whispered, "I'm still going to be with you afterwards, just wait."

  Shilo sat with his arms crossed on another couch.

  Everyone sat silent. Malem twitched once fiercely then bolted up, "I've got an idea!"

  Jax looked up at him and put his free paw up, "Malem, whatever it is that's not why we're here."

  "Jax, just wait right there. Shilo, can you get that insecure guy to stop his fascination and come over here to do something else for now?"

  Shilo looked confused, "Oh, uh, ok, whatever."

  Malem bolted towards the entrance hall and slammed the door behind him. By the looks of it, he didn't stop running for anything. The city was near, so his destination and whatever he needed to get wasn't that far away.

  They looked at each other and continued their conversation. Jax spoke first.

  "Ok Shilo, first question."

  Shilo nodded.

  Jax bursted out laughing, "How did you adopt Taron, haha!? you said you were seven, that's illegal, man." He held in his laugh.

  Shilo lifted an eyebrow, "Ok, then. You see, right before the explosion happened," He waved his paws in the air sarcastically, "We adopted him. End of story."

  Rona looked at Jax and Shilo angrily, "Jax?! That's all you wanted to ask him?! What a waste of time..."

  Jax wagged a finger, "Mm-mmn, I said first question."

  Rona sighed in annoyance.

  Jax continued, "Ok, heh, next one. Shilo, how much did I miss?"

  Shilo leaned a little closer to them, "You want me to tell you everything?"

  Rona shook her head quickly.

  "No, maybe just highlights," He responded.

  "Okay, then. Well let's start off.

  "In 2011, lots of bombings took place in Iraq and Iran. Also, a large Tsunami hit Japan, haha, I remember that.

  "In 2012, the president became president for another term, and a song shook the world and gained a billion views on its first week. That year was when the true juvenoia went into action.

  "In 2013, a marathon was bombed and some kidnappings happened in Cleveland, I think. Some other movies and things came out too, like "Catching Fire" and stuff.

  "In 2014, a plane went missing, and Robin Williams died.

  "In 2015, countries were corrupted.

  "In 2016, some gorilla got assassinated, some guy became president, lots of movie stars died, and memes became the bloodline for many worldwide."

  Jax sat on the couch staring blankly at the floor. "Oof"

  Shilo nodded, "Yep, I know."

  Rona sighed, "Okay, Jax, can we go now?"

  Jax hesitated.

  Malem ran in again with a pamphlet. "Shilo, is he here?" He asked, out of breath.

  "Huh? Oh. No, sorry," He replied.

  Malem cleared his throat, "Whatever, just give this to him."

  "Okay."

  Jax stood up. "Fine. You know what? I think I'm done here," He smiled.

  Rona walked towards the door idly. Jax continued, "Alright Rona, Malem, let's go." Shilo sipped his tea again and waved slightly. He almost whispered, "Byeeee."

  Jax gripped Rona's hand and led both of themselves out of Shilo's home. Malem winked at Shilo. Shilo gagged.

  Malem followed Jax and Rona. Jax closed the door and inhaled the winter wind. It was pretty chilly out. Rona held on to Jax's sweater.
