I couldn't I just stand there waiting for our doom. I snapped.

"Everyone stop and calm down! If you panic like this we're just going to die and it'll be your fault. So get it together and stay calm." I yelled.

"Stay calm? Are you serious? How can I stay calm knowing that we might get blown up and all die!"Dad argued.

"We are going to die if you don't shut up. We have a greater chance of surviving if you actually do something with these 9 minutes!" I screamed. I don't like to take crap from other people, so sometimes I scream at them. It doesn't matter if it's my parents. Even if it was the president I would still fight for myself and others. Surprisingly, my family shut up after I yelled at them.

"Thank you. With these remaining minutes, we need a plan. Luckily this house is old so we have a bunker. We can gather supplies and store them down there before the time runs out. We have to be quick. Mom, I know you have some weapons stored away. Go get the guns and any defensive thing you can find. Dad, get as much water and food as possible. I'll get the medicine, first aid, and anything else useful I can find. Salton will go wait in the bunker." I commanded. Wow. I feel kind of powerful know that I said all that smoothly and seriously. I have to get moving though, I can't just think about something pointless again. Everyone did as they were told. Mom went upstairs to get the weapons, Dad went into the kitchen, and Dalton went into the bunker. I ran into the bathroom and grabbed anything first aid related. I saw some survival manuals, gas masks which I, didn't even know we had, and a radio. I took flashlights, batteries, paper towels, backpacks, and anything else that I could find. We all looked at the time. It said 4 minutes left. We all finished gathering and ran into the bunker closing it. We usually went down here in emergencies, but mostly it was a private area where we could hang out, so we put a tv and some chairs in it. Thankfully we can look at the timer down here.

       "We have everything?" I asked.

"I think so. I'll check again."Dad said rummaging through everything. At this point, we all just had to sit and wait as the clock ticked down to our doom. There was serious tension in the air, but no one said a word. We all just huddled together and watched the timer.

"Incase if we do die, I just want to say that I love this family." Mom said.

       "I love you guys."Dad said.

"We love you too!" Dalton and I said. We all started crying together with sorrow and fear. It's never a good combination. The clock ticked down. It was at one minute. We all hugged close together. Then it was at 10 seconds before we knew it. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, then 1, then 0. We all waited. The T.V turned to a news station in Europe showing explosions, then Asia, Africa, South America, the South Pole, the North Pole, then North America, where we were. We heard booms in the distance. This was really happening. We really can die. The vibrations shook the bunker. Dalton screamed and we all looked at each other horrified. there were so many booms going off, we heard them getting closer and closer. Then the news stopped. The t.v cut out. All the power was out. We waited. No more booms. Dad started to walk to the hatch of the bunker.

"Are-are we ok?" Dalton said hugging my arm.

"I don't know." Dad answered. Mom went with him and she opened the hatch and went out with no hesitation. I followed her and Dalton stayed with Dad. There was so much dust and debris everywhere. I looked in the distance and I saw fire everywhere. When I turned around, we all stood there in shock. It was a little damaged, but the house was still standing.
