"How is this even possible..." I asked frightened.
"Do you think, we're one of the lucky ones?" Dad asked hesitantly.
"Let's look around." Mom said walking around. We split up and started to look around the house. I came across something frightening. I stopped and stared.
"Mom, Dad..." i called them over, still staring at it. They came running over and stopped as they saw it.
"How..." Dad stared. There was a bomb, sitting on the ground.
"It didn't explode? We could be dead if it did..."Mom said looking at the bomb.
"Maybe the terrorists wanted to scare us by saying all of them will go off, but really some of them are defective. This could mean that other places are fine too." Mom explained. "Its just a thought though." She continued.
"We should find other people. For now, let's stay here. Where it's safe. But first..." mom walked closer to the bomb. She picked it up, and before anyone could say anything she threw it so far. It exploded once it hit the ground.
"Are you serious? We could've died if the explosion was bigger!" Dad screamed.
"Well, we shouldn't have a huge explosive device above our heads. Sure I didn't know if I threw it far enough, but I had to take that risk." Mom said calmly. She forced us to get out of the dusty air and into the bunker. We all sat down and decided to stay there for a long long time.

After 2 weeks, we already needed more food and water. We decided to plan an expedition outside for a few days. Mom and I would go, and Dalton and Dad would stay at the bunker. We grabbed 2 gas masks, 2 backpacks, food, water, guns, and flashlights. It's time to get out of the safety of our walls and go into the new burnt world.
