~ (y/n)'s P.O.V. ~

I woke up to alarms going off. Newt was shaking me as Tommy stood.

"Someone is attacking the place, we have to go." Newt explained as I blinked at him in confusion.

"Go where?"

"Somewhere safe." Jorge came running down the stairs as Newt took me into his arms. I wrapped my arms around his neck, knowing we were about to run.

"Get our guests to safety! Hurry!" Jorge yelled and people rushed around. Delilah grabbed her bag and ran over to us.

"I'll help you guys, follow me." Brenda came over too.

"We have to go to the tunnels." She told Delilah and Delilah nodded. Brenda looked back at us. "Follow us and stay close." Newt and Tommy nodded as several groups went in separate ways. Brenda and Delilah led us down a series of steps behind a door. The steps led into a dark tunnel. Once we were at the bottom of the steps, Delilah and Brenda turned their flashlights on. Delilah turned, giving me a back up flashlight.

"How often have you had to use these?" I asked, scrunching my face up as the damp smell in the air of the tunnels.

"We use them a lot for travel, never had to for escape before." Newt hummed as we walked forward.

"Well at least you know where you're going." Delilah shrugged.

"Eh, mostly."

"That's very comforting." Newt whispered. He was met with silence.

After a while, we stopped. Newt set me down against the wall as everyone took a water break. There was silence among us as Newt gripped at my hand, passing the water canteen to me. I drank from it eagerly.

Down the tunnel, there was a scuffling sound, making me freeze and look to Newt. The sound echoed and happened again. The echo made it difficult for us to tell which direction the sound was coming from. Delilah quickly glanced at Brenda. "You and Thomas go check that way, me and Newt will check this way." Delilah started walking, but Newt hesitated.

"What about (y/n)?" Delilah shook her head, biting her lip in a nervous way. Brenda was the one to answer for Delilah.

"She is safer here for now, just in case something really is there, you might need to fight it. You can't do that while holding her." Newt bit his lip, but nodded. He leaned down towards me, kissing me gently.

"We'll be back, love, I promise." I nodded and watched as their silhouettes left.

I waited for a few moments, clenching the flashlight in my hand. I kept the light off because I was afraid something would come for me down one of the tunnels if it saw the light. I leaned against the wall, listening to the quiet drip of water, waiting for Newt or Tommy to come back.

Down one of the tunnels, Tommy shouted. Beneath me, the ground rumbled. I switched on the flashlight, pointing it up at the ceiling where a crack had formed.

"Oh shuck." The ground rumbled again and the ceiling seemed to bend. I rolled to the side as small pebbles rained down from the crack. I stopped myself a few feet away. When I looked up, the ceiling crashed in.

"(y/n)!" Newt's voice called somewhere far away past the rubble. I coughed, waving my hand through the dust that floated through the air.

"Newt! Tommy!" I moved toward the rock pile, slow. I heard water splash as it leaked from the ceiling onto my bandaged hands. I gripped at the rocks, coughing again.
