I just pulled up to the store when it happened. I reached down to get my bag from the passenger side when I heard the door open and I felt someone grab me and pull me out. I was pushed against the side of the car while my hands were held behind me. Before I had the chance to fight back I felt a wack to the back of my head and everything went black.
As I slowly came back to the world of the living I opened my eyes and panicked when everything was black. I went to lift my hands and I could feel that they were tied. I started to panic and I could feel that familiar pain in my chest begin. I tried to stay calm and control my breathing. When I recognized the sound of a car and once my eyes adjusted to the dark I could tell I was in the trunk of a car, and we were moving. The first thought that came to my mind was that I was being kidnapped and was going to be sold in a human trafficking ring. The feeling of the car coming to a stop and the engine turning off brought me to the present. As I heard footstep coming closer to the trunk I prepared myself to fight.
The second the trunk was opened I kicked my legs out and judging the grunt of pain I knew I hit my mark. Luckily my feet weren’t tired so I was able to hope out and took off into the trees and started running. With the adrenaline pumping through my veins I barely felt the scrapes and cuts from the braches as the hit me. I don’t know how far I ran, but when I started to slow down to catch my breath I was tackled from the side and pinned.
“Ugh, get off of me, let me go. Help!”
I heard the guy that pinned me telling me to be quiet. I looked up at him cringed at his face. I continued to yell as he lifted me off the ground, and once I was on my feet I tried to punch and kick him. Before I could stop it, his fist came flying to my face and all I thought was wishing Wally was here to protect me as everything went black.
Wally’s POV
I stood dressed in my suit looking at myself in the mirror as I tied my tie. My wolf was howling with joy at being Malia’s date to the dance. He has been on edge ever since she was taken to the hospital after her panic attack, but being able to hold her close and dance with her calmed him down a bit. I knew though, that he and I included, would never be fully content until we mated.
Finishing up I walked downstairs where my parents were along with Damion and everyone else. Mom was taking pictures of everyone while dad was laughing.
“Wally,” my mom called
“Ya, ma?”
“I want a picture of you with Malia,” she demanded.
I told her not to worry and told the pack that I would meet them at school with Malia. The drive to her house I was a nervous wreck. I was acting like a teenage girl. I was worried. Would she like the flowers I got her, would she have fun? What if she didn’t have fun and never wanted to see me again. At that thought my wolf paced as he whined at never being able to see his mate again. The sight of her house coming into view increased my nervousness.
I pulled into the driveway and grabbed the flowers I got her and walked to the front door and knocked. The door began to open and I began to smile, but stopped when it was Mr. Kent.
“Ya?” he asked.
Truth be told, even being a wolf, Mr. Kent freaked me out a bit. Everyone knew Mr. Kent. They respected him. He’s a good man.
“I’m here to take Malia to the dance,” I said, manning up.
“Is that Wallace?” Mrs. Kent asked coming to the door.
“Hi Mrs. K. I’m here for Malia,” I said flashing her a smile.
“I thought she was with you?” she said with a panicked tone.
I froze. If Malia wasn’t here, and Mrs. K didn’t know where she was, then where was she.
“Why would you think that? I told her I would pick her up.”
“When she didn’t come home I figured she went to meet you,” Mrs. K said.
I saw Mr. K leave and pick up the phone and heard him talking to the police. I started to panic. I gripped my hair as my mind started flooding with scenarios. Malia in an accident. Malia hurt and calling for help. I turned and ran into the woods across the street barely hearing Mrs. K calling for me. The moment I stepped past the tree line I changed into my wolf and I let out a howl. Minutes later I felt other pack members shifting and I was bombarded with questions. I was to riled talk so I showed them what just happened. Right away, Damion started giving orders to the park. Once he was done, he told me to change back and stay with the Kents, and that he would take care of things on our end. One wolf would stay by the house to let the others know what info the humans had or what they were going to do.
I was able to calm down enough to shift back and got dressed in cloths that had been stashed around for moments like these. I walked back up the Kents and there were already cop cars present. I walked through the door and when Mrs. K saw me she ran up and pulled me into a hug and told me how everything would be okay. I sat on the couch with my head in my heads berating myself for not protecting her. Once again my mind went over scenarios of what could have happened to her. The one that scared me the most was that the rogues that were spotted last week were the ones that took her.
I made a promise in that moment that whoever had laid a hand on her I would personally kill, and my wolfed growled in agreement.
