Olivia was at a loss. Polly had tried to reason with Tommy but he wasn't for hearing it. Olivia had messed up. She walked out of the door. Polly was so busy trying to speaking to Tommy neither of them noticed. Olivia couldn't think. Her mind had shut down. She walked down the muggy Birmingham street with no idea of where she was. She just wanted to crawl into a ball and disappear. Olivia walked for what seemed like miles. As she passed people would ask if she was okay. But she didn't respond. She felt like such a fool, coming all the way up here. Why would Tommy want to listen to her? It was starting to get dark and Olivia didn't want to go back to Polly's. She walked down a dark alleyway and found a spot to sit. It was damp and wet but Olivia didn't really care. She sobbed into her hands. She was a fool.
Meanwhile, Tommy was furious. Why did Polly bring Olivia to birmingham? To apologise? Tommy didn't want to hear it. He still cared for Olivia but he would always lie to himself. You don't love her. Tommy had left Pollys to go to his office. He needed space. As he sat as his desk, He threw his head in his hands.
He could feel his heart breaking. She did him wrong, She lied to him. But seeing her there in that fragile state made Tommy want to pull her in his arms and forget everything. But he couldn't. She could have had him killed at the hands of Sabini. And since then, He hated himself for falling for a girl like Olivia. A beautiful liar. Tommy was pissed, but he had to speak to her st some point right?
Fuck.
As Olivia sobbed in the alleyway, footsteps approached. She looked up to see the familiar site of John. His face was full of sadness. He knelt down next to Olivia and placed a hand on her shoulder.
'Liv, come on. Let's get you to a warm bed.' John ordered, Olivia could tell he was serious while all the time feeling sorry for the poor girl in front of him.
'I love him, John. Why won't he listen to what I have to say?' Olivia spoke through wimpered breathes. John shook his head, annoyed that his brother was letting this poor girl suffer like this. Without answering he helped her stand up. As they did, she collapsed in his arms and sobbed even more. Tommy needed to listen to this girl, Whether he liked it or not.
John carried the young girl back to Pollys house. He could tell Olivia was exhausted, She needed to sleep. Polly helped John take her upstairs to a spare bedroom. Polly sighed as she could see first hand what all this chaos had done to both Olivia and Tommy. As Polly helped Olivia into the bed, Olivia spoke.
'Do you think he will ever forgive me Polly?'
Polly didn't know how to answer because in honesty she really didn't know.
'If he has any sense girl, he will.'
Morning broke in Birmingham. Polly was up making breakfast. Olivia struggled to open her eyes. She doesn't remember coming back to pollys. She cried that much her memory had turned to mush. She stretched as she got out of the bed, the smell of eggs calling her. She threw on a robe she had brought with her and made her way downstairs.
'Good morning Olivia. Eggs?' Polly asked, a smile casted on her face. Olivia nodded her head and sat at the table. As soon as the eggs made there way in front of her she demolished them. She hadn't eaten properly in months and right now food was what she needed. Olivia blushed bashfully at Polly.
'Sorry, that was lovely. I didn't realise how hungry I was.' Polly laughed at the young girl sat in front of her.
'No bother love, nice to see someone enjoy my cooking. Anyway, I'm sorry to leave you Liv but I have to nip out. Confession and all.' Olivia nodded her head and watched the older aunt leave. She suddenly felt alone again.
Olivia sighed and walked towards the sink with her plate. She washed up and began to leave the kitchen. As she reached the door, a hard figure came in contact with her own. She regained her balance and quickly apologised. As she did, she looked up.
It was Tommy.
He was dressed in his usual suit attire. The front of his hair slightly loose and falling above his blue eyes. Olivia held her breath. She was so close to him she could smell the cigarettes.
'Tommy, I....'
'The Garrison. 9 oclock. Tonight.' He spoke with authority, it made Olivia feel almost scared. With that he turned away and walked out of the house. Olivia stood, mouth agape.
Shit.
