Fuck.
Olivia squinted at the light coming in. Her head pounded. She woke up in an unfamiliar room. Olivia looked down to realise she was in her underwear, in a unfamiliar bed.
Fuck.
Memories of last night came flooding back to her. Drinking, dancing, more drinking and Tommy. Tommy and Olivia in the bar top. Olivia ran her hands through her hair. What was she doing to herself? She jumped out of the bed and searched around the room for her clothes. As she did, Tommy walked in. He was fully dressed, ready to start the day. He chuckled as he watched Olivia try to find her dress. He enjoyed watching her in her underwear. He noticed it sprawled out at his feet and he took it in his hand.
'Looking for this?' He spoke up holding the dress up. Olivia turned around and rolled her eyes. She jumped forward to grab it, but not before Tommy pulled it away.
'Ah, Now I believe the word is thank you,' Tommy teased. Olivia rolled her eyes and him and thanked him. He handed her the dress and began to get ready. He enjoyed watching her dress. She threw her hair up to keep it out of her face. Tommy smiled.
'I have to get going,' Olivia stated. Tommy nodded in agreement and walked her down the stairs. He could beg her to stay if he could. As they reach the front door both stopped. What was going to happen now? Where they going to forget last night happened? Laugh about it later because they were drunk?
Tommy didn't regret last night, but he knew getting to close to Olivia was something to be weary of. He didn't want his heart broken again.
'Thanks for the party last night Tommy. I had fun,' Olivia said nervously as they reached the door.
'Oh yes, don't worry about it,' Neither of them wanted to mention the events of last night. Regret? No of course not. Olivia reached up and gave Tommy a kiss on the cheek. Tommy could feel a smile creep onto his lips. He watched as Olivia, with no shame that she was wearing last night's dress, walk out of the door and on her way back to Polly's.
As soon as Olivia opened the door to Polly's she was bombared with questions.
'Where have you been?'
'What happened?'
'Is everything okay between you and Tommy?'
Olivia couldn't get a word in. Polly finally took a breath allowing Olivia to answer.
'I'm fine Polly, I just stayed at Tommy's and yes everything is fine between us,' Olivia answered. Polly raised an eyebrow but didn't persist in further questions. Something was going on between the two and Polly knew this young girl was going to be the reason Tommy falls in love.
A couple of days had passed since the party. Olivia hadn't seen Tommy since, apparently he was doing buisness, according to Polly. But something had been niggling on Olivia's mind. She couldn't keep staying at Polly's. She had a home back in London. Now that everything had settled with Tommy she could go back now? But did she want too? The thoughts had been on her mind for days.
Olivia had made her way downstairs, to be greeted by Tommy. He seemed to be having a hushed conversation with Polly. As soon as he caught Olivia's eye the conversation stopped.
'Olivia.'
'Mr Shelby.' Olivia replied. Polly soon left the room leaving the two alone. Tommy rolled his eyes at her name for him. She knew it was a tease for him. 'What can I do for you this fine day?' She asked him.
Tommy offered her a chair at the dining table and she happily took it. He sat next to her and took off his flat cap.
'I have actually come here to make you an offer,' Tommy stated, Olivia raised an eyebrow.
'Well, I can't say my prices are fair Mr Shelby but they are defiantly in your price range,' Olivia joked. She laughed as Tommy shook his head.
'No Olivia. I want to open the offer I made to you when we first met.' Olivia sat back. She tried to remember. Then it came to her. She sat in shock.
'But Tommy....my home is in London, my job, everything,' she stuttered. Tommy began to light up a cigarette. Before he spoke, he took a long drag
'I know, but we can move your belongings up here, I can sort you a place out and you can come work for me,' Tommy insisted. Olivia tried to rack the thought in her brain. What did she have in London? After Sabini died she started working in a seedy bar. The only thing she had left was her home.
'Are you sure?' Olivia questioned, nervous of the thought of leaving London. Tommy placed a hand on top of hers.
'Positive. I can get the lads fetch your things from London and you can start getting settled in,' Tommy continued.
'Well I can't say no to that can I?' Olivia exclaimed. Tommy smiled happy she was going to be in Birmingham. Somewhere he can keep an eye on her, away from any danger. Olivia gave Tommy a kiss on the cheek and thanked him.
She would finally be moving to Birmingham for good. Tommy watched the smile on the young woman. He said he was going to be careful, that was slowly going out of the window.
