It has been one week since Tommy had found Olivia curled up in the alleyway and she was still unconcious. Polly had called round the doctor, his response was simply that she would wake up on her own accord. Polly would watch as Tommy sat by her bedside and would just watch her chest breath up and down. He would ocassionaly shake his head and mutter to himself.
Polly was seeing first hand the effect this girl had on him. In the week that past, Tommy along with John had gone out to find the culprit. It didn't end well on the rapists part. Tommy was quite most of the week, waiting for Olivia to wake.
'I hope you let that girl apologise to you Tommy,' Polly spoke as they both stood over Olivia's unconscious body. Tommy shook his head and Polly sighed. 'Fucks sake Tommy, you need to realise how sorry that girl is and how messed up she is because of all that Sabini nonsense. You best hope she wakes up,' Polly continued. Again, Tommy didn't say a word.
He knew she was right. He was still pissed that she fucked him over but he still cared for the girl. The fact she had travelled to Birmingham showed something right? If she didn't care, she would be long gone, teasing other men into a false sense. Tommy looked down at Olivia to see a different woman. When he first met Olivia she was strong, confident and full of fire. Now, she was small, weak and liveless. Between himself and Sabini, they had taken the spark out of this poor woman.
Polly sighed and walked out of the room. Tommy didn't know what to do. For 6 months he couldn't stop thinking about this girl, even when she screwed him over. The tears she cried the night Sabini was shot were real. He didn't want to believe Sabini had crossed him, and with a woman too. A beautiful one of that. Olivia was his weakness, but Tommy was trying so hard to beat it. Of course he was mad at her, but who gives up on the woman you care for?
Tommy leaned forward and grabbed hold of her limp hand. He squeezed it tight. They had a lot to fix between them once she woke up.
The next day, Polly sat in the bedroom with Olivia placing a wet cloth over her forehead. Polly watched in shocked as Olivia's hand started to move. The tips of her fingers twitching. Polly stood up and shouted for Tommy. Olivia's eyes started to flicker ppen, squinting from the light that entered the room.
Tommy had made it to the bedroom as Olivia woke up. Olivia tried to sit up but pain jolted through her body. Polly leaned forward and helped her lie back down. Olivia looked to see Polly and Tommy looking down at her.
'What...what happened?' Olivia whimpered, trying to remember how she got in this state. Polly looked down at her with sympathy, she knelt down next to her and placed a hand on top of hers.
'Olivia love, you...you were raped,' Polly spoke softly. Olivia sat wide eyes, she looked at Tommy who was looking straight to the floor. The memories of the night came rushing back to her.
'You were supposed to meet me at the pub?' Olivia spoke directly to Tommy. Had Tommy been there she wouldn't be in this mess. Tommy looked at her, trying to find the words. 'You didn't show up...and I was raped!'
'Liv please..' Tommy said stepping forward.
'No! Don't Liv me! Get out!' Olivia screamed at Tommy. Tommy tried to speak but Polly motioned for him to leave. He nodded his head and walked out of the bedroom.
Polly looked at Olivia with sadness.
'You know sweetheart, I know your mad right now but Tommy was the one who found you. Brought you back here. Without Tommy, you would have probably died in that alleyway,' Poly explained. Olivia huffed. She knew Polly was right. But she still felt anger. If he had been there on time this wouldn't have happened.
'Get some rest love,' Polly stated. Olivia nodded and watched as Polly left the room.
A few days had passed and Olivia hadn't seen Tommy since the day she shouted at him. She was feeling much better. The pain had subsided, her bruises where starting to fade and she could finally get out of bed. Olivia decides to go out and get some fresh air. As she began to change, She heard a knock on the door. Thinking it was only Polly she told the knocker to come in. She turned around to see Tommy stood in the doorway, his face stunned by Olivia's appreance. She was wearing nothing but her dressing gown, which clung to her figure. Tommy had forgotten what he was about to say.
'Something to say Mr Shelby?' Olivia questioned. Now that was the Olivia Tommy had fallen for. He looked up at her, trying hard not to justbreach out for her and do all the things he could think of.
'Er...yes, we are having a party in the garrison tonight if you fancy joining us?' Tommy stuttured. Get it together Tommy. Olivia smirked. As much as she hated him right now, and as much as he probably hated her she knew the power she had over him.
'Maybe,' was her short reply. She continued to get her things ready. Tommy watched as the dressing gown danced along with her movements. Reminding himself to leave, he turned and left.
Tonight, he would make amends with Olivia. Tonight, he would give her the opportunity to apologise.
