Chapter Forty-One

We needed to get back to Joker before he had gone and killed him. Joker was a changed man and there for, Bruce didn't need to kill him. Harley and I resurfaced and went to the car that still smelled like Bruce Wayne's rotting body. We hurried inside anyways and I punched the acceleration and we hurried back to the docks. Harley wasn't speaking much,  she was calm as ever about the possible death of Mr. J. Either that or she had been through these things plenty of times. When we had gotten to the docs, I was looking into the sky to see if I could see Bruce anywhere. I was being cautious, telling Harley to go and get ack as quietly as she could. She nods and runs off behind that shack. My guess is that they have planned everything out just in case someone needed to kill them or something. They have been wanted for years and everyone would be out to get them. 

As I walked, something about this made me shiver. I looked up again and didn't see anything but when I looked to the docks, I saw Aquaman standing there. Why in the heck was he here? He looked at me and then looked to the water. There was fear in my chest for what had happened to Bruce. For some reason, I had a feeling that he was in those waters. I quickly walked to Aquaman who had come forward. 

"I saw him," he said, "He is morphing, Jasper." 

"Morphing?" I asked with a risen eyebrow.

He nods, "Yes. He is in the darkness of a cave just off of the beach. He asked me to tell you not to follow him." He said. I blinked, how can I not? I loved him! Bruce was everything to me. I put my hands on my cowl and took it off. I was holding back the tears now. Aquaman put his hand on my shoulder. I looked up to him and his eyes were filled with sorrow. 

"Let him go, Jasper."

"I can't," I said quickly, "Bruce is everything and-"

"He can't be human ever again. There is something you need to know," He was about to tell me something but that's when I heard footsteps behind us.

"Aw, Fish-boy, you weren't going to tell her my secret, were you?" The man asked who I knew as Red Hood. I whirled around and I shoved him. 

"What's going on!?" I screamed. 

"You shouldn't have your cowl off, princess," He whispered, I could hear the smirk on his face. I quickly turned to him and he stood over me. I hated this guy but something about him was familiar. I know I've met Red Hood a few times but I didn't know who exactly he is.

"You don't know me,"

"Yes I do,  sister."

I furrowed my eyebrows at him. Sister? I only had one sister and even then it was a stretch of the truth. The only people that I called brother and sister was Dick and Jason. My eyes grew big. No, no it couldn't be!  He couldn't be Jason.

"J-J..."

"What you did to Bruce isn't good," he said turning the attention away from me, "We need to bring him back and either talk sense into him or kill him,"

"That isn't a suggestion," I growled, "We don't kill, remember?" I bit harshly at Red Hood.

"It is a suggestion!" He hollered, "You turned him into a nightmare!"

The sudden scream of Harley shook his all up. I looked to Red Hood and then started to run. I ignored everything he was saying to me. When I went into the shack, there stood a man with the look of a bat and a man standing in front of me. Bruce was turning into the thing he had feared the most all of his life. He slowly looked up to me and grinned. 

"I shall kill the people who have wronged me. Something I should have done a long time ago," He said and there was Jack's head in his hand. He slowly looked to Harley who was sitting in the corner sobbing, weak, and terrified. 

"You've crossed the line, Bruce."

I said and attacked. 

OH SNAP! Bet you didn't see that coming! I am actually super sad Joker is dead. This story is also coming to a close. Will Bruce become human again or will he defeat all the crime in Gotham and die trying?
