Once Upon a Time

Once Upon a Time
I had a home
A mom and a dad
I wasn't alone

Once Upon a Time
A human fell down
Broken and bruised
On her face was a frown

My parents healed her and fed her
And let her stay for a while
She became my best friend
Though she rarely did smile

Once Upon a Time
I told her the tale
Of how we all got trapped here
And her face became pale

She whispered to me softly
Wearing an expression I couldn't read
"We can save them all, Asriel
Just follow my lead"

Once Upon a Time
I had trusted her
Let her drag me outside
How excited we both were!

Till I saw those gold flowers
That would cause us great pain
When I saw those gold flowers
Uncertainty I did gain

But despite how I protested
She had made up her mind
And ate those gold flowers
As I watched from behind

She soon became ill
Stuck in bed growing weaker
I stayed by her side
Each day growing bleaker

Once Upon a Time, my best friend died
And a bright red soul was all she left behind

I followed through with our plan
Crossed the barrier to the surface
Her voice in my head
Telling me of the purpose

But Once Upon a Time
Our hopes and dreams shattered
And I returned home
Broken and battered

My consciousness faded
And next thing I know
I'm no longer me
Yet tears do not flow

Once Upon a Time, I could feel
But now that's long gone
Just dust in the wind
And now I feel wrong

But maybe that's ok
Because in the end
I did save them all
With the help of you, Frisk, a friend

Now go with your family
I'll be alright on my own
Because deep down I remember
I wasn't always alone
