I watched as my new acquaintance was being pulled away by the man in charge of this place. I thought it was strange, the way he grabbed him and forced him to leave but maybe it was important but that didn't matter as it was none of my business. As I stared like a statue I was disrupted by a strong pull to my right shoulder and yelling in my ear which cause me to shriek in fear, though I wasn't scared. I whipped my head around to find the culprit smiling sheepishly at me. Instinctively I pushed her down.

This woman, er, girl? Had her hair styled in two buns with small pieces of her hair hanging in front of her ears, she was the height of the average woman, maybe 5'4? I stand at 5'8 so clearly I towered over her. She wore a black T-shirt and a red skirt, underneath her shirt she wore another shirt but it was striped. To be honest, she kinda looked like a blushing zebra; but that wasn't the point.

"You scared the shit out of ME! Why would you do that?!" I yelled getting pretty pissed over a harmless act that I wouldn't dare call a prank. This is when her grin grew five times larger "I dunno, I just felt like it" great, I'm dealing with and idiot. But I could be wrong, I don't know who she is or why she is the way she is. "Oh, silly me. I shouldn't have been so rude to not give you my formal introduction. Hi, I'm Lexo." She waved her hand as a sign of some sort of greeting and I introduced myself.

"Is this your first day here?" She asked "yeah actually" I answered. "Does this mean you haven't finished unpacking?" She asked dragging her words but at the same time carry them to a higher register while slowly tilting her head in a strange way. To make it less complicated; she was interested in my room. "Yeah, would you like to help?" I asked not trying to put any labor on her tiny body but I need all the help I can get. "YES! If your willing to let me!" She fidgetted up and down like a rocket in its first second of taking off. "Yes of course, follow me."

It's kinda strange to be the one to lead someone around when they have the map and you are merely a beginner in your new location but I guess that is something that I must get used to. We had finally arrived to our destination and I slid my ID in the keypad and entered my pass code. Of course, I did it in such a way that my body was blocking any way for her to see me type the code. Yes she is friendly, but she isn't trusted any more than a stone that I happened to used when crossing a flowing river. She is merely helping me momentarily, though that doesn't mean that I'm not open to being friends.

The door; like most doors in this particular building, are the types of doors that slide to the side automatically, but only after typing the code. She had immediately ran in and jumped around with much more than just a spark of enthusiasm. With this enthusiasm came loads of questions along the lines of 'where do we start?', 'what's in this box?', 'do you have any items that require assembly?' And so on. I pointed to a box in the far right corner of my room and told her to start there, I didn't really care what she saw, I had nothing to hide.

As the minutes passed by and almost started dragging into hours we were well on our way to being done. She had started some simple small talk with me, asking about where I'm from, what surname I belong to, or why I owned the style that I did. This was all well and harmless and we got along quite well. Then I heard an alarm blaring over the speaker outside my room, it was blasting in my ear and had a 'warning voice' that went along with it. The voice was extremely fuzzy but was good enough to understand.

Attention all MFTL members in the army unit this is not a drill, members of the overhead towers spotted peculiar activity near the base and Identified it as code SME. Go down to the armor hall to change and prepare for any up coming attacks

So much for a good first day
