As the alarm continued with the blasting in my ears me and Lexo ran out the room. I, of course, had no idea where I was going so I just followed her. We found ourselves in the armor hall and changed with the other members. She grabbed me and got into an elevator with a man who was almost so normal that he could go unnoticed if he shot a man in public except for one unique feature on him. His eyes, one was transparent. He must be blind, this is something that shouldn't be shocking to me because as it is a regular thing that's happens in a unit like this but it still surprised me a little.
Lexo looked to me and asked if I had already met the man, "no" I replied. She smiled (which was very strange due to situation that we are in) "this is my really good friend, Rex.". The man was maybe 5'6 and had beard, not long but getting there. He wore regular clothes, a black V-neck and some jeans, he also had his hair in a bun like some sort of hipster from the twenty-first century. I didn't mind, though, I'm not one to judge. I probably looked more ridiculous than him. I had bright pink hair than I wore up to imitate a bow. I wore a cut turtleneck, dark violet wrap on my hips and several belts.
"What group are you in?" She asked "what?" I responded "what group are you in? Like, with weapons and fighting style?" She repeated being more specific this time. "Oh, I'm in the SPW group." I answered finally understanding the question. In the army unit, we have different groups that specify the persons needs or skills in certain areas or what weapons they handle. The groups are:
RW group- the people who work with guns and bows
BW group- people who work with any type of bladed weapon such as knives, swords, and axes
GKW group- members that work with both blades and firing weapons
SPW group - members who have a weapon that doesn't fit the description of the other groups or members that can only use one certain weapon made for them only.Of course, there is also the leader who is trained to be proficient in all areas. "Oh that sucks." She said frowning a bit "that means we won't be on the field together" "I'm in the RW group that works in the slit hall." She explained.
I had no clue what that was and I had no intention of figuring that out. The elevator soon opened and we went our separate ways. My head was pounding with questions on what I was supposed to do, where to go, when to hit. Then I heard someone calling after me. A tall man approached me and slapped me lightly on the back to get my attention "Hey rookie, what's wrong with you?" He asked in a rude tone that I'm sure he didn't mean. "O-oh, nothing. I'm just not sure where to go." I answered "didn't they train you?" He asked "no, this is my first day here." My eyes veered off to avoid the embarrassment of not being prepared "are you serious?!" He raised his voice and started mumbling negative things having to do with our leader and then looked in my direction. "Okay, just...Just follow me, I'll show you what to do." And in an instant we were off.
I found myself feeling better right away knowing that I was with someone who had experience.
