Driving with Charlie is a nightmare, thankfully he got us there safe and sound but not without whiplash.
"Jesus Charlie." I mumble stepping out of the car into the late june heat.
"Sorry, sis." He replies as he hands me over the keys. Walking into the store, Charlie grabs the cart while I read off of my shopping list.
Not looking where I'm going my shoulder bumps into another shoulder.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry." I say quickly as I look up from my shopping list, I'm met with a pair of eyes who looks familiar in a way."it's quite alright miss." the man around my age speaks in a southern voice. "My names Joshua." the man tells me as he holds out his hand to shake, smiling I reply
"I'm Olive."
"Sis! Can we make pizza?" My brothers voice cuts through our greeting, shouting back
"sure! get the stuff to make it."
"is that your boyfriend?" Joshua asks with his eyebrow raised. scoffing I say
"no that's my brother but I'm married anyways." At the word married his smile falters a bit."Oh," he replies. "well you're young no?"
"Yeah well he's my saver." I reply as I stare into his eyes.
Nodding his head, I start to get a little creeped out by how he's staring at me. Clearing my throat, "I have to go Joshua but it was great meeting you"
"same for you Olive." his words are ice cold. Nodding my head I turn around and head towards my brother who's picking out pizza sauce.
"Hey sis you alright? You look a little pale" he asks me as I approach him, nodding
"yeah it's just that guy over there, he was just a little creepy." I reply.
Suddenly my brother narrows his eyes in his directions and sets down the pizza sauce.
"want me to have a talk with him?" He whispers bending down to my level. Huffing out
"no Charlie plus I'm your big sister not little sister." Scoffing he replies
"you'll always be my little sister." walking into different isles I can't help but feel like I'm being followed. looking around I spot nobody but my instincts are clouding my mind.
Walking closer to Charlie who's pushing the cart I wrap my arm around his forearm,"whats the matter sis?"
"I...I.feel like I'm being followed." I mutter.
As his eyes roam around us he suddenly stops the cart.
"What's the matter Charlie?" As I meet his eyes, he's looking passed me.
"That freak is following us." he mutters dangerously, turning around I'm met with the same grey eyes earlier, finally Charlie speaks up. "hey man what's your problem?"
"Me?" The guy points to himself.
"yeah you." Charlie challenges him.
"Char come on let's go." I say as I pull on his arm he pulls it loose and takes a step closer to the stranger.
"Were you following us?"Charlie asks,
"man I dont know what you're talking about."
Scoffing Charlie replies."you were just talking to my sister"
"um no I wasn't dude and i just got in here." As the conversation grows so does the people watching and it makes me feel uncomfortable.
"So you've never seen or talk to my sister until now?" Charlie asks, the guy replies
"yes dude I ain't never seen your sister." rolling his eyes Charlie turns around and walks towards.
Grabbing my arm he pulls me out of the store, suddenly he hugs me."um Charlie why are you hugging me?" releasing me mumbles
"come on we gotta go to a new store."
Standing there confused I look around and see the stranger staring at me. fast walking to the car I hop in and lock the doors.Facing Charlie who's looking anywhere but me, my words catch him off guard.
" do you not believe me?"
"Sis I'm not talking about this right now." he grumbles out.
"whatever Charlie." I mutter jamming the key into the ignition.
