"Find me.... Come to me..... Aneksi," A deep sensual voice whispered to me.
The voice wrapped around me like a lovers caress. Soft to the touch and it brought a shiver down my spine. The sensual voice repeated the mantra over and over, as if it were ingraining it into my mind that I must find the voice. Suddenly from the pitch black room, a torch appeared. It looked to be hanging from the wall. Walking over as if in a trance, I grabbed the lit torch and started walking in the direction of the voice.
I continued to walk until I came upon a lit corridor made of stone. On the stone where hieroglyphics. These were the written words of the ancient Egyptians. Their ability to bring such beauty and art to drawings that tell a story is astonishing. With the intricate curves and vibrant red, black, blue, and gold colors to bring the story to life.
These particular hieroglyphics appeared to tell a story. Of a man who was burned by love, family, and sought vengeance against his people. Not having to concentrate on what they were telling, but it created a peaceful surrounding. It did not scare me that I could read it as if it were as common as the English language.
I walked up to the stone and ran my hand along with the words and pictures.
Even in death, we shall never part.
"Even in death..." Suddenly a whirlwind surrounded me and the corridor morphed. The barley lit stone wall of hieroglyphics melted away in a river of gold to transform into a chamber. Not just any chamber. This looked like a royal chamber of a Pharaoh.
The stone pillars were encased with gold decorations, the bed that sat on slits was positioned perfectly in the center of the chamber, surrounded by a glow that gave the illusion of peace and love. What gave the room its ambiance was the wide-opened door that led outside. Suddenly, a soft breeze blew in, causing the white sheer drapes that covered the window to move. They moved as if they were beckoning me to come closer.
Encouraging me.
When that wasn't enough, the wind then wrapped around me and it was warm. It slid over my body, caressing me as the voice did. I looked down to see if someone was in fact caressing me only to gasp in shock. I was not wearing my pajamas, but a white sheath dress that came all the way down to the floor. Around my waist was a belt made of gold. Bringing my arms up I noticed that I also had on bracelets that wrapped all the way around my bicep and led down to my elbow. It was a gold snake. I also noticed that I was wearing a gold necklace that came to rest along my bosom. Turning this way and that to look at my outfit, I heard something.
The voice...
"Aneski..." That voice. It was calling for me. Yearning for me. It sounded sad.
I stopped looking at my clothes and in a trance, I allowed the wind that welcomed me to led me outside.
What I saw made me truly believe I was not where I was supposed to be. Out in the distance, not too far away from what I assumed was the palace, was the Pyramids of Giza. They stood tall and proud, blocking the last ray of the fading sunset. The pyramids were washed in the orange hue of the sunset making the scene breathtaking.
I walked slowly to the banister made of stone and leaned against it. Down below was the market slowly closing up for the day, the people getting ready to leave. It was a serene place. No yelling or fighting, everyone appeared as if they got along with each other.
The only thing that showed why there appeared to be no violence was the patrol of Medjai along the edge of the market. There were some running in groups as well as some stationed in strategic positions to be able to see from each side.
"Aneksi....."
I quickly turned around and paused in shock. It was him. The voice. I was finally looking at the body that belonged to the voice that brought out a longing in my heart.
And the body did not disappoint.
He couldn't be more than twenty by the way his bronzed skin had no indication of wrinkles. Along with the fact he looked to be over six feet tall. What really drew me in were his eyes. They were so blue they could pass as grey. It appeared as if I was looking into his soul. They were so expressive it was hard to not look away.
It was hard to not want to run into his arms to comfort him from the pain that was reflected back at me.
His black hair brushed his broad shoulders. His shoulders gave the inclination that they would be real support for holding onto...
Wait what am I doing?!
I've never had these thoughts before. Not even when I was dating Evan.
"Come to me..." He held out his hand, beckoning me to go to him. Caught in his eyes, I didn't realize that I was walking until I felt large, warm hands grab my own and pull me to an equally warm and hard body.
There was no way to describe the feeling of being pressed against a hard body. One word popped to my mind though.
Safe.
I've never felt more safe and secure than I did at this moment. With these arms secured around my waist, the way his hand sensually caressed my bare waist, his breath wafting over bare shoulders, I finally knew what it felt like to be cherished.
Wanted. Loved.
Something that has always been out of reach for me. It didn't matter that this was a dream. Here in this dream state, I could feel the things that I don't feel when I'm awake.
"You found me...." Even his voice held warmth for me.
"I'll always find you."
I froze after saying that. I didn't mean to say it. It came out of its own free will. Now I could feel something in the back of my mind telling me to let go and enjoy. A small breathy voice. It sounded like mine. It wanted to take over my conscious and have me experience this moment as a passenger and not be the pilot anymore. Truly wanting to know what is happening I gave in to the voice and let go. I could feel the tension snap and everything seemed to fall into place.
His arms pulled me closer as if he could feel the difference.
I moaned and leaned more into his embrace, not wanting to feel the emptiness of being alone. In this warm and strong embrace, I knew what it meant to be loved. When his arms slackened around me, I let my irritation show. But all was forgiven as he grasped my bare shoulders and turned me to face him.
I felt his hand slowly move from my shoulder, along my neck, and up to cradle my cheek in his palm.
When he gazed into my eyes I knew then that I would always be with him. I would never leave. For here in his arms, I felt safe. His head slowly lowered to mine and my head lifted to met his.
As we continued to come closer nothing mattered to me. The outside world couldn't intrude on this moment. Nothing would stop u-
BEEP BEEP BEEP!
What was that?!
I shot up in my bed and for a few seconds did not realize that I was home in my comfortable bed.
Light was coming in through my French doors but that wasn't what woke me up. Wading through my thick white comforter to get to the other side of my queen-sized bed I reached for my phone.
Seeing that it is Dr. Walt who called me I quickly answered my phone. Clearing my throat and hoping I sound like any normal person would when they wake up I said, "Good morning Dr. Walt."
"Good. Your up. Yes, I find I need you to come in on your day off the help me prepare for our trip."
There was shuffling on the other end of the line so I could only assume that he was looking through the itinerary for the trip.
Rubbing my face and sighing softly I opened my eyes and gasped.
For in front of me was not my door, but an apparition of a man. And not just any man.
My mystery dream man.
