Ok so I'm just going to rant about stuff here.
Honestly I think Ridley Pearson is a terrible author. He's just not that good at writing.
Now, before you kill me, I'm not saying I don't love the books. I love the books. But I love the characters and the storyline, but the details and consistency in the books isn't that good.
Here are some examples.
💥 Philby and Willa go to the same school right? I mean, at some point, Philby and Willa were talking at Willa's locker. If they didn't go to the same school, that would be kinda odd. But in the first book, Finn asked Joe for what schools the other Keepers go to. He gives Finn a piece of paper with four different names of schools, one for each other Keeper (this is before Amanda and Jess). Now how can there be four other schools if Philby and Willa go to the same school? Did one of them transfer schools somewhere in there? Or is this a mistake on Ridley Pearson's part?
💥 In the Return series, Philby had a theory that if they stop the OTs from being made, there would be no need for DHIs and they will never have met. But someone so smart would not have missed the rest of this. Yes, if the stop the OTs in 1955, they will not have been Keepers. But if there were no Keepers, they would not be able to go back in time to stop the OTs and there would be OTs. But if there are OTs, Disney would assemble some Keepers to go back and stop them. However, if they stopped them, there would be no need for Keepers and therefore no Keepers. This just keeps going. It would create a time paradox. But somehow it doesn't? I have questions.
💥 In Return book 2, Legacy of Secrets, Finn is grieving about his friend Dillard's death, saying he was tricked into thinking he was stabbing Maleficent but he was actually stabbing Dillard. Um, no. He was trying to stab Tia Dalma. Get your facts straight. But it gets worse. Later in the very same book, Finn mentions how Dillard died again. He said he stabbed Dillard but was trying to stab Tia Dalma! Like, it's bad enough he got the villain wrong, but make up your mind. Jeez!
💥 My next thing is Philby's friend Hugo. He is said to be one of Philby's only friends and is also good with technology. He later becomes an OTK. However in The Syndrome, there is a guy named Bishop, who is one of Philby's friends. Bishop is good with technology (Amanda asks him to figure out who is in a photo of a bunch of people). He turns out to be an OTK. Sound familiar? Hugo and Bishop are the same person, Ridley Pearson changed the name.
💥 In the Return book 1, Willa tells Wayne some stuff that will happen soon: it will be so hot that ladies' shoes will sink in the melting pavement, there will be a choice between water fountains and toilets (toilets will be chosen), and fake tickets will be made, making the crowds incredibly large. In the Return book 2, Wayne tells the Keepers a bunch of problems Disney had been having; it was so hot that ladies' shoes are sinking in the melting pavement, there was a choice between water fountains and toilets (toilets were chosen), and fake tickets had been made, making the crowds incredibly large. He tells them as if forgetting Willa had told him this. However, Willa (and everybody else) were shocked by this, like they hadn't heard it before. What? It was literally the exact same information.
There are more that I am forgetting. If I attract any Kingdom Keepers fans and you have some other mistakes from the books, tell me and I'll write another rant chapter about this.
Also, does anyone know the actual name of Finn's sister? Or the actual names of Willa's brothers?
Ok, that's my rant. Anyone else excited for the next Kingdom Keepers book? I believe it's called First Light. I don't know if that's the series name or the book name or when it comes out or anything, but here you go.
AHHHHHHH! (Fangirl screaming ensues) *after a few hours* *stops* I hope there's Wilby! *fangirls about Wilby* hehehe
