Chapter 4

Okay, but. Who the heck is going to eat all of these pancakes???????

And why are they heart-shaped?????

The real question is : Why are these inside my locker??????

I took out the box and brought it with me to the next class. It's English.

I entered the class and thank God, the teacher wasn't there yet.

"So, is there anyone ordered pancakes and maybe it was misplaced in my locker?" I asked as I stood in front of the class. Unfortunately, everyone ignored me. Yeah, so much for having no friends in class.

"Well, nevermind." I said and walked to my own seat. I placed the box on the floor, beside my desk since it is too big to be put on or under the desk.

I saw Baejin entered the class with 2 other boys, Lai Guanlin and Lee Daehwi. Okay, why were the two kids in our class??? Both of them were in the 10th Grade while Baejin and me were in 11th Grade.

"Hyung, don't forget to come to practice tomorrow, alright?" said that Guanlin kid. Baejin smiled a little before saying, "Yeah, sure. But I'll be a little late. You guys practice first, alright?" The two boys nodded and skipped their way out of the class.

"What's up?" I blurted out unconsciously and quickly covered my mouth with my palms.

Baejin turned to face me and blinked, "Hm?" "Nevermind!" I said and took out my books for the next class. On the corner of my eyes, I could see Baejin's eyeing the big pale blue box that was placed beside my desk. "Why? Is that yours?" I asked him. He looked stunted before replying, "What? Oh, no! It's just... it's a nice box." he said innocently. I frowned and just shrugged it off.

I rang the doorbell as I stepped in front of the door. After waiting for about 2 minutes, the door was finally open by my mom.

"Minkyung! Sorry you had to take the bus today." she said with a slight frown. "It's fine, mom." I answered and stepped inside the house, still holding the big pale blue box.

"What's that? It's not your birthday today." mom asked. "I know, right? It was in my locker. I tried to ask around but nobody claimed it was their's." I shrugged while placing the box on the dining table.

"What's inside?" mom asked excitedly. "I don't know, I-" before I could finish my sentence, mom was already opening the box, revealing all 14 pieces of pancakes. "Oh my..." she let out a small gasp. "Why didn't you eat it?"

"Mom, it's not mine! It's-"

"I'll eat it. It's mine now. Go take a shower. I'm taking you to the grocery store since your brother's coming home. I need to cook." she said and took a small bite.

"Minki? When?" I asked. My brother rarely comes home since he's busy with clubs and stuff. He's the "social" one among two of us.

"Just take a shower. These pancakes are nice!" she said and licked her fingers.

Oh my God, why is my mom like this.

I was strolling the trolley, following my mom from behind. She's planning to cook pasta so she had to buy some meatballs and the pasta itself.

Mom suddenly stopped walking and I, shockingly stopped too.

"Miyoung! It's nice to see you! Why are you here?" mom asked the middle-aged lady.

"It's nice to see you too! My son, he wants me to buy something. He said it's for his friend's party or something." she replied and laughed a little.

I decided to leave them both talking and went to get my favourite banana milk.

The weekend ended so fast. It didn't feel like I was resting at all. And my brother is still not home. What a scammer.

It was Monday, my day was running by smoothly aside from Bae Jinyoung still didn't talk to me that day, until after lunch, I found another box inside my locker. This time, it's a metallic silver box. Smaller than the previous one.

Okay, this is not a misplaced thing. Is somebody up for something?

I opened the box, revealing 13 big white marshmallows.
