Ara and I drove immediately to my condo.

I opened my phone and saw a couple of missed calls and messages, all coming from Cienne.

"Ara, anong sabi ni Cienne?" I asked on the way.

"'Di ko alam, nag-p'panic siya e, I... she said something about wanting to see you immediately. Tapos sabi niya rin, parang may kailangan daw siyang sabihin, something like that, I don't know. 'Di clear mga sinabi niya."

I breathed deeply. "I hope she's okay."

"Me too."

A few moments later, we've arrived at my condo and we ran to Cienne and I's room.

I pushed open the door and expected to see Cienne standing up and not knowing what to do or something, but she wasn't. She was sitting at the sofa with her hands on her head.

"Cienne?" She looked up. My eyes landed on the big purple suitcase beside her. A black gym bag was on top of it, and it was then that I'd noticed that all her stuff in the condo was not in sight.

"Ano 'to?" I asked, pointing at her luggage. Ara closed the door behind me. "Cienne, anong nangyari?"

She straightened up. "Bakit 'di mo sinasagot mga tawag ko?"

"I'm sorry, that's my fault," Ara said. "I..." Nagkatiginan kami. "I... told Mika na mag-focus sa work. Kaya di niya nasagot mga tawag mo."

She nodded and breathed deeply. "I got fired."

"Oh, uh, okay, it's okay," I sat beside her. Ara sat on the other side. "Okay lang 'yun. Marami pa namang ibang trabaho dyan e."

Cienne looked at me and gave me a faint smile. "Pinapauwi na ako ng parents ko," She uttered.

"Ano?" I exclaimed. "Bakit naman?"

"'Di ko... 'di ko alam, I... I told them, I don't know why, pero... pero I promised them na sasabihin ko sa kanila 'pag wala na akong trabaho so... so I told them, and now... now they want me to go back..."

"Siguro naman pwede mo silang ma-convince? I mean, they're your parents, after all..." Ara said.

I was lost for words. Cienne... is leaving? Ano na....? Ano nang gagawin ko? 'Di pwede. I can't.... This is just crushing. My heart was slowly shattering into pieces.

"No, 'di niyo n-naiintindihan," Cienne's voice was shaking, but she wasn't really crying, she was just really panicked. "S-Sabi ng parents ko, pwede ako mag-stay because it's for my volleyball career and they've always supported me with that. P-Pero nung nag-stop na ako, and I told them na I want to find a job in a company here, they weren't happy, so, para ma-convince sila, I made a deal with them." Cienne paused as I blinked my tears away. "Sabi ko sa kanila, one month. Give me one month and if I don't find a job by then, I'll go back."
