What to do...

My gun is in the glove compartment but if I move now she could potentially shoot. Wait, how has she found me in the first place? Nevermind. She's a lieutenant for crying out loud, of course she's bound to find me. She has access to all the proper programs and database systems. Either that or she's aware that Sheriff Porter and I are familiar with one another.

"Answer me! Where is she?" her voice rings throughout my ears and I feel like ripping them from my head.

"I could answer if I actually understood you. Shouting is going to get you nowhere." I speak ever so nonchalantly, even though a rapid throb can be felt in my chest.

"Don't act stupid with me Steven! I'm not afraid to pull this trigger." she yells. So she knows my name aswell, well this just made things a whole lot more interesting. And I'd like to see her try to shoot me. Damn chick doesn't have the balls. It's just a fatal case of a broken heart that hasn't learn to disconnect itself from the soul yet. She'll get over it eventually.

"Then do it. I'm not sure what that will solve, but whatever floats your boat." I shake off her threat while switching off the engine to my car. Since she's my next target, who managed to bring herself to me, there's no reason to keep the engine running. I then lean back in my seat with my hands placed on the steering wheel, waiting for her to cave in.

For a brief moment, a cliché-ridden silence takes over and I become consumed by apathy. I decide against sitting here a second longer and reach for my gun. Every action that follows after happens so quickly I lose track of time. How I end up outside of my vehicle with the lieutenant on top of me still shocks me.

I lay pinned to the ground while she straddles my waist. Both of us breathing heavily. I wonder if she's aware of the sexual position we're currently in.

If it wasn't for the life and death situation there's a great chance that our position would turn me on, but since she nearly killed me things are only going to get worse from here on out. I simply need to regain my strength. I take a moment to replay everything that happened in a matter of seconds. My mind traces back to when I first reached for my gun in the glove compartment.

-----

I removed my right hand from the steering wheel and swiftly opened the glove compartment with the gun in full view. Just then my senses sharpened with adrenaline as a gunshot could be heard. I ducked immediately, but not fast enough as the bullet shot straight into my arm.

The same arm that Peggy wounded when she threw that tiny knife at me. That wound finally fucking healed, now this shit. Natural reflexes caused me to grab at my arm and bring it closer to my body as I hissed in pain. For a split second, I completely forgot about my weapon in perfect reach.

"I told you. I'm not afraid to pull this trigger. NOW GET OUT THE VEHICLE OR THE NEXT ONE GOES STRAIGHT TO YOUR DAMN HEAD!"

I decided to comply, but not without a strategy of my own. In one swift motion, I grabbed my gun and shoved it in my back pocket as my other hand opened the door. I could feel the blood trickling down my arm, but decided to ignore it. I had bigger problems to face. As I stepped out, my feet landed on the ground beneath me. Then I slammed the door shut.

"You shouldn't have threatened me, lieutenant. It's not going to end well."

Without allowing her to respond I reached for my gun and instantly pulled the trigger as I aimed it towards her. The bullet fired from my weapon and spun through the air as it neared her. X beautifully marking the spot. A smile played on my lips as the thought of her life ending right here, right now sounded pleasing.
