*NIALL’S POV*
“Hey Niall look, it’s your girlfriend.”
I look up from my phone to see Louis smirking towards the window. Jo’s outside walking happily along the road with her friend, clutching her prizes. She looked adorable.
Obviously, I instantly turned a bright shade of scarlet. But he wasn’t finished. He threw his hands up in I’d say a defensive way. “Oops, sorry. Liam, Zayn, Harry AND Niall’s girlfriend.”
What?
I looked over to the other boys to see them all staring at each other sheepishly. Did they like her too? My stomach fell a bit. I needed to say something.
“Don’t be stupid! We have all only met her a couple of times, and we don’t really know her! Also, Liam has a girlfriend, so he’s officially off the cards.” I might have said that a bit fast and my cheeks were still burning, but I didn’t care. It gave me a small bit of relief, as I kinda thought she had a soft spot for Liam.
But then he called out. “Well, maybe for not much longer.”
Face him, I was shocked.
“What?!” We all shout in unison.
Now it was Liam’s turn to look nervous. He swallows slowly. “It hasn’t really been working out for a while really.”
“Well it was last time we saw!” Harry replies, widening his eyes. “What’s gone wrong?”
There was a long silence. “We’re kinda just drifting apart…”
“I wonder if she knows that.” I mumble.
Liam must’ve heard me, as he’s suddenly looking at me with his intense gaze.
“And what’s that supposed to mean Niall? You think I’m purposely making up excuses so I can try it on with Jo or something?” He looked angry, but I didn’t give a shit. By this time, I’d made my mind up.
I get up, clearing my throat. “You know what, Liam? I wasn’t actually thinking that but now you’ve mentioned it, that does actually sound what you’re trying to do. I think you should at least give Danielle the respect she needs and break up with her, or back off!”
Liam started to get louder. “How dare you! I’m not trying to do that at all!” But his actions speak otherwise, as he tries to reach out, as if to hit me. This angers me even more. How dare me? How dare HE try to think he can try to punch me? Douche.
Louis stands up at this point, and pats us both on the shoulder. “Lads, lads. I think we all need to chill out here.”
“PISS OFF LOUIS.” I yell at him, as does Liam. I didn’t mean it, but all I could see was red right now. Usually, Louis would be able to make the situation better by cracking a joke, but not this time. I think it was the fact that Liam had almost threatened me, the way he was being TOO defensive. It was scary.
I stalked off in the opposite direction to Liam, which happened to be the bathroom.
Before I could stop it, tears started spurting out of the corner of my eyes. I tried to make them disappear by blinking rapidly, wiping them with the sleeve of my shirt. Why did I have to be the emotional one?
My phone blinked, the text flashing up on the screen.
“I’m good, you? Your costume was awesome btw. :)x”
It was from Jo. That cheered me up loads. I texted back saying my thanks and that I was fine, which couldn’t be further from the truth. I’d had my first proper argument with Liam, and I think. I THINK it was over a girl, which is something that’s never happened between any of us before. Now here I am, sat on a toilet seat crying like a baby. What has my life come to.
