"What Makes You Beautiful"~One Direction
Chapter 1
~Connor~
She was truly beautiful, sitting there on my stomach. But I could tell she didn't think so as she gazed down at me. I feel a smack on my slightly chilled face.
"Connor? Connor, are you there?" she said, almost irritably. I shook my head.
"Yes Ash?" I asked sweetly, trying to regain my obvious day dreaming. She leaned back, reflecting the fading sunshine on her copper colored hair.
"I said, isn't this place so beautiful?" she asked with a distant sigh.
Oh yes. This place was very beautiful. It was full of tall, green grass with blue and yellow and pink wild flowers scattered through out the field. In the center was an oak tree, which is where we usually sat, either in the shade, or in the branches, hugging each other in our own little world, forgetting everything else.
But right now, we were in the middle of it, watching the sun go down. I felt another soft, but irritated slap.
"Connor."she said, more inpatient again. I slowly sat up onto my elbows.
"It is. I wish we could meet every night." I agreed softly, looking into her clear brown eyes. She leaned slowly down, and kissed me softly. I sat up all the way, laying her down on my knees that she was leaning on before. I kissed her slightly harder, and she wrapped her arms around me. Her long and beautiful arms. She pulls away, and we look into each other's eyes silently. My crystal blue eyes into hers. She leaned forward, but to give me a hug. I wrapped my own arms around hers. She breathed a warm breath next to my ear and I shivered. She laughed quietly. I pushed her away slightly, and she smiled.
"I had another great evening with you, Connor." she said quietly. I knew what was coming, even though I didn't want it to. "But I must go." she let her hands slip, and she went to stand up. I grasped her hand, restraining her from leaving.
"We could tell them all. You'd be popular. Then we wouldn't have to hide." I said, almost desperately. She shook her head, and I let her hand slip out of mine.
"I'm sorry Connor, you know I can't do it. I'm too shy." she said, after standing up. I stand up beside her, and stand close to her, taking bother hands in both of mine.
"If you be how you are around me, everyone would love you." I said softly, as she ran her hand through my hair for the last time in a week.
"But I can't." she said exaggeratedly. She stepped away and turned. As she walked away, I stared after her.
"I wish you could..." I whispered to myself, as I watched the dust from her truck fade away.
I stood there for God knows how long, but finally, only when it was dark out, did I walk slowly back to my SUV, not wanting to leave the field where I could let my true self show. The place I call 'The Field of Ash.'
