That morning before practice, I got dressed into my training suit, and was ambushed by a man wearing white. "Who the hell are you?!" He put a towel into my hand, "Go take a shower." The man said in a passive aggressive tone. I nodded slightly, and went into the bathroom, and locked the door. This must be for the interview, I thought as the cold water ran down my back.
When I was done, I wrapped the towel around around my waist and walked out into my bedroom. The man was no longer there, but on my bed was a modified version of my training suit. It was still a one piece, skin tight, black surf suit, but this time, the zipper is in the front and it had a fin-like collar. Also, on the back of the suit, in stead of a trident, there was a light blue silhouette of a dolphin.
I walked out of the room and Triton was standing next to my front door waiting for me. He was dressed in the exact same thing I was, but instead of a dolphin, it was a shark. When he realized I was standing behind him, he turned around he chuckled slightly. "What would you do without me?" He smiled as he fixed my suit so that it wasn't crooked and patted my wet hair down so that I didn't look like a mess.
"So, I guess this'll be the last time were friendly to each other." I quietly said, I wish I didn't because both of our moods changed in under a second. He put his right hand on my right arm.
"No matter what, we'll always be brothers. Nothing can hurt us when we work together." I smiled grimly as he took his hand off my arm.
"I'm gonna visit my friends, I'll see you at the interviews." I waved to Triton goodbye and headed down the hallway. I stopped at Phoenix's door, she wasn't there. Then I walked to Feather's room and I saw them there, Phoenix helping a giggling Feather to get ready. "Knock, knock." They both looked up at me in surprise.
"Wow," all three of us said in unison. Phoenix had her long black hair curled and the ends of her hair were dyed a crimson red. Her dress was made out of red, orange, and yellow feathers, making it look like she was on fire. Little Feather's short white hair was also curled, but instead of red dye at the tips of her hair, she had light blue. Her dress was made out of blue silk and was covered with cloud designs of all sizes. Apparently, Triton had done something to my hair to make it look cool.
From across the hallway, I heard Leaf's voice, "Rivers can you come here for a second." When I got to his door, he pulled me in and locked the door. He had a serious expression on his face. "I need to tell you something very important," he said in a strained voice as he looked out of the crack to see if anyone was outside. "I need to tell you why I fought back on day one."
"Wait! Why are you telling ME this?" I asked, genuinely concerned.
"It's because if I don't make it out of the Games, I need to tell someone so that my knowledge won't go to waste," he continued. "Well, once upon a time, there weren't any Sectors. We all lived together in piece, until they came." Things suddenly got interesting so I kept on listening. "The scientists who wanted to discover why humans had developed elemental powers. So, when one of the scientists became president, they all took over and they developed the Element Games."
"So, the Government created the Element Games to study people with elemental powers?" I tried to confirm with him so I could get the story straight.
"Yeah, did you also notice that the Element Masters we've seen so far have been holograms?" I feel dumb, no, I feel fooled. "Everything we know is a lie made up by the Government.".
I smirked as I walked out of his room, "Well, let's give THEM a good show."
