Rain

Comes and goes like real snow. Stays for a while then eventually leaves like your elderly ill mother. It's so unpredictable. Keeps you guessing, keeps you wondering.

It's erratic and yet you know when it's going to come and interrupt your day. Dark skies; bitter winds; grey clouds. You can even smell it. The presence of it gives up an unexplainable aroma that everyone seems to identify easily. It must be terribly difficult to sneak up on people with so many ways of being identified.

It comes in two sizes: Heavy and light. With these different sizes come alternate sounds. Heavy gives you something similar to a five year old discovering cymbals for the first time. Light is your gutter leaking after years of tolerance. It can threaten your life at times but it's extraordinary that something so harmless can turn out to be something so dangerous. Never underestimate anything, I guess.

Whatever the case is, it will always be beautiful. Yes, it's just water. But that's the exact reason why it's so fascinating.

Rain is unexplainably gorgeous and I'll never be bored of it.
