Chapter 13

Secret Tunnel

--------------

    How on earth are we going to find a secret tunnel in here? I've been staying here for less than 3 months at hindi ko naman alam kung saan ang pasikot sikot dito.

     "Seriously, saan tayo hahanap ng Secret tunnel? We can't even ask anyone about it." Sabi ni Jasmine.

    "Why not??" Josh asked. "It's a secret, smarty." Jasmine replied. "No one knows about this tunnel."

    "What did it say ba? Diba Erudite people lang naman ang may galit sa mermaids? Of course someone there knows where that tunnel is." Sabi ni Jen.

      "That's actually correct. Why don't we find clues or people who knows about mermaids." I replied.

     We borrowed the books tsaka Pumunta sa mga klase namin. Pagtapos naman ng class na ito free na kami mamaya.

     We first finished our classes and decided to go at the middle of the day. Hapon na non para hindi kami aabutin ng dilim.

       May mini library pa pala sila, this people are so smart at kaya pa nilang itago ang maliit na library.

     "I don't know why students from erudite needs to study. Mabubuhay na sila kahit di mag aral eh." Sabi ni Jasmine.

    Naglalakad kami sa mga isle to find clues at habang naghahanap ako may naka bangga saakin. "Sorry." sabi nya at umalis na. Grabe Di man lang ako tinulungan nahulog tuloy librong kinuha ko.

    Nung kukunin ko na yung last, bigla syang nag open mag isa. Hinayaan ko lang sa page na yon at umupo kung nasan saan sila.

    "Guys, nung nahulog ko itong mga to, this book opened mag isa. I swear it was closed when it dropped." sabi ko.

     "What does that page say?" tanong ni Jen. "It's a quote from a mermaid. Not all humans show what they really are. That's why Underworld is here, for people who have more than one being. Not all people are showing and telling are real , seek with a wise mind and listen with all ears."

    "Why would that help us? Baka naman hinangin lang yan Becca." sabi ni Joshua.

    "Yeah siguro nga." sabi ko nalang. I'm really curious and eager right now. Tumigil yung boses and I think something's wrong.
 
    "Becca tara samahan mo ko, I'll buy water for us." sabi ni Joshua. SSinamahan ko na sya tutal naman wala pa kong nahahanap.

      Then nakita ko sa may tindahan nila picture ni Professor Octavia. "Ma'am Octavia pala was an erudite?" sabi ko. Nagulat ako dahil may natapong tubig pero it was an accident. "Really? Hindi ko man alam yun ah." sabi ni Joshua

   "It's on the picture sa may counter." sabi ko. "Huh? Wala namang picture ah?" tanong ni Joshua. "What are you ta---" My jaw literally dropped dahil wala na yung picture. Pero meron talaga dyan kanina.

    "Baka guni guni mo lang." sabi nya. "No! Hindi, nakita ko talaga. Miss diba may picture dyan. Professor Octavia and her batch mates was there."

     "A-ah, hindi ko po a-alam ang sinasabi nyo." sabi nung nagtitinda. "Becca, stop. Come on let's go." sabi nya at binigay ang tubig saakin.

     We went back to our seat and something literally feels so wrong. We started reading again at naririnig ko nanaman si ate girl.

     "Guys, alam nyo wala tayong mahahanap dito." sabi ko. "I need to go to the restroom." sabi ni Jen.

      There's something weird talaga eh. First yung book na nag open nalang bigla then nalaman ko Erudite si Prof Octavia. Then the picture that dissappeard right in front of my eyes.

     What the hell is happening?

  "Guys, meron palang daan sa gilid ng restroom sa may hallway sa labas." sabi ni Jen. "Huh? Yung dun sa tapat ng gate ng Erudite?" tanong ni Jasmine.

    "Oo, nagulat rin nga ako akala ko it was a wall na." sabi ni Jenny. "What do you mean? Walang daan dun. That's a literal wall."

     "Meron nga! I saw it open pa." sabi ni Jenny. "Ano bang nangyayari at namamalik mata na kayo?" tanong ni Joshua.

  "I am not. Kung ganon bakit nakapasok si Professor Ooctavia don at hinintay ko Pa sya for minutes pero Di Sya lumalabas." sabi ni Jenny.

   "Huh? Bakit naman dito dadaan sa Erudite si Prof Olivia?" tanong ni Jasmine.

     Don't do this! Wag kang lalapit!

  It slowly went all together. Professor Octavia was an erudite. "Jenny take us there." sabi ko.

   "remind me why are we going fast again? Parang may hinahabol tayo eh." tanong ni Jasmine.

    "Josh, erudite dati si Prof Octavia and there's a big chance alam nya kung nasan ang tunnel." sabi ko. "Pero diba wala naman talagang picture.

   "Believe me there is." sabi ko. We stopped in front of the bricked wall. Pero may outline sya.

     "This is a wall you guys. We can't go in there." sabi ni Jenny. "This is the part in the movie where the movie where the actor checks her pocket to find something." Jenny laughed at her joke.

    We all tried to look at our pockets and wow. Just wow. Yung pic nila professor Octavia and her batch mates. Nandon pa nga si Professor Tobias eh. "I told you erudite si prof."

     Nakita nya and binaliktad

    "Patingin nga" sabi ni Jasmine pero nadapa Sya at nagtuloy tuloy sa dingding. We laughed pero napansin namin na nag push yung wall.

    It was a door painted like bricks pero kanina it was a literal brick wall.

    We opened it at naglakad papasok. It was a little dark, merong mga ilaw sa gilid caused by fire.

      Then bigla akong nadulas at nagslide pababa. It was a little longer than expected.

"Becca!" sigaw nilang lahat. "It's fine guys, it's a slide."

    We all reached the end of it at nakita ang tunnel. It was surrounded by trees and flowers.

    "Ang ganda. Tunnel ba talaga toh at kulungan? Ang ganda." sabi ni Joshua.

    Hindi ko talaga alam! Please tumigil ka na. Please leave me alone.

     Then it was silent. "Guys shut up for a second." I said. May narinig akong footsteps sa grass. "Hide."

    We all hid everywhere we can hide from. Joshua and I hid from a big bush. Darn it's very uncomfortable.

   We saw Professor Octavia walking at tumigil sya sa harap nung bush. We both covered our mouths.

      She came to her senses at Bumalik na sa paglalakad. I noticed na hindi nya dala ang panyo nya ngayon. I just observed that mahilig sya sa panyo.

     Nung naka akyat na sya ulit ay nag labasan na kami. We ran to the big vault which I think dun sya Nakatago.

    "How does this open?" tanong ni Jasmine. "Teka I saw a note dyan kanina." sabi ni Josh at ibinaliktad ang papel.

    "Patentibus rediit ad celebres cultissima." Joshua recited.

    The vault opened right after he said it. We saw a mermaid tied at the bottom of a tank.

    "Octavia?" she asked. She saw the four of us. "Who are you? Why are you here?"
