Ok. Take a deep breath. Don't freak out. Just do what you do best. Lie.
Those are the thoughts running through my head for the past hour because soon my father will meet my fake boyfriend.
Which is absolutley no reason to freak out, right? RIGHT?!
See, my dad obviously doesn't know I'm not really dating Jake. And we all know that I can't tell anyone, except those involved, now can I?
I'd told my personal assistant, Sara White, a sweet brunette girl I picked out myself, to book a table at one of the most expensive restaurants in NYC. Kurumazushi. Dad and I both love Sushi and if I bribe him with good food, he's bound not to ask too many questions. I hope.
What does one wear to a dinner with both father and fake boyfriend? Good question. I have no idea. My mind is blank as I try to come up with something classy but casual. You know, the kind of outfit which says didn't try too hard but still appropriate for father meeting fake boyfriend for the first time.
I wish Lou were here. She has excellent taste in fashion and always helps me pick out clothes for business meetings. She knows what our father wants to see when he goes out into public with us.
But Lou herself is busy with who knows what. Probably hitting on boys or studying. I don't know and I don't really have time to find out.
Suddenly, my thoughts are interrupted by a knock on my door. Gena sticks her head in the room and stares at my floor, covered with literally my whole closet. Clothes are strewn aimlessly everywhere. I'm standing in front of the floor length mirror with what seems like the hundreth piece of clothing and I'm still not happy.
I either only have slutty fun or boring business clothes. Damn it. What the hell am i supposed to wear?
"Well, if you ask me, you could wear the red dress. The frilly one." Gena's now lounging on my bed and eyes said dress expectantly. Apparently someone's stopped being pissed at me.
"No, dumbass, I'm going out to dinner with Dad. I can't wear something with that much cleavage!" I exclaim and glare at her. "Em, Dad's not stupid. He knows you have a daring wardrobe. He knows you go out to partys all the time." Gena snickers.
I growl warningly. She might be right though. Our father really isn't that dumb. Still, I don't feel comfortable with Jake also being there. He'll think straight away I'm a floozy or something.
Wait. Why does it matter? Jake's only my fake boyfriend. He can think what he wants.
"Ok, fine. What about the blue one? With the white thingy in the middle." Gena points to the dress in question. "It's conservative enough, don't you think?" "Do you even know what conservative means, Gena?" I ask haughtily, just to piss her off. Because I'm just so good at pissing off my family. I groan inwardly.
