Jyn's pov
Upon arriving at the nearest hospital, the paramedics took Cassian and Chirrut on a stretcher. During the ride, I put a bandage to stop the haemorrhage, luckily the ball didn't get stuck, it came out at the other end. Later, they gave him a blood transfusion and laid a plaster on the whole leg. Baze had been burned to half the face. They laid a plaster on Bodhi's arm. A little white plaster was placed on my upper eyebrow. One of the employees was generous enough to drive Kaytoo to a veterinarian. Chirrut, meanwhile, we didn't know if he would survive. I walked a little in the hospital, in the waiting room, there was a television broadcasting the news. It was talking about us, maybe not directly but I knew it was us.
- We don't know if the beach was evacuated, everyone who was present are for the moment declared dead. Okay, I'm at what seems to be "a ghost".
I rejoined Cassian, who was under the serum. He was asleep, I didn't know if it was because he had lost consciousness earlier or because he had been given a sedative. I sat down beside his bed and took his hand. I was hoping from all of my heart that he would wake up, I wanted to see his smile again, I wanted to hear his voice and his way of speaking, I wanted to feel his arms around me. I loved him. Our relationship may have started on bad bases, but we both realized that we were not so different after all.
- Erso would need another anti-pain in room 216, thank you. Says a woman at the intercom.
Erso would need painkillers in room 216? I repeated to myself. I was fine and I was not in room 216. Unless...
