Enrique's P.O.V
Well this wasn't thought through very well. How are things going to be between Ashton and I from now on? Will it be awkward? It's never been awkward. Awkward would be terrible. What if she doesn't want to be friends anymore? Questions ran through my mind as I made my way over to her house in my Camero. I should have never kissed her. But she did kiss me back... Ugh. Why? Just why did I have to mess things up when we'd been friends since forever ?
I took a deep breath and tried to focus on the road ahead.
Finally I turned onto the Reed's long driveway and waited. Man I was a nervous wreck. Why? I hate this. I just want things to be like they were. No chance of loosing her. Just being best friends. We had always been best friends. Nothing more nothing less. Why change that now? I saw Ashton come out the front door looking drop dead gorgeous. My heart jumped into double time. If it beats any louder than she's gonna think there's something wrong with my car.
She got in and to my surprise she kissed me. She. Kissed. Me. Did I already say that? Well you better believe it. I was so caught off gaurd that I didn't even respond to the kiss right away. It was short but intense and I had to use all the strength I had in me to control myself. This girl has no idea what she's doing to me.
On the way to school she connected her phone to Bluetooth again and played her Pitbull music like she usually did. Why was I feeling all weird about listening to it? Memories of me and my grandma came flooding back into my brain and I did my best to shut them out. Something about this music was making me feel very uneasy. Why though? My brain kept flicking back and forth from the kiss to the thought of church with my grandma and then back to the music. I focus on driving and try my best to forget whatever that feeling was.
School hours went by surprisingly fast and before I knew it I met Ashton at my car. We were about to leave when a girl walked up to us. She had short blonde hair almost to her shoulders and she was easy on the eyes. She looked beautiful to be honest. I'm like 6'3 and she looks like she's at least 5'9. Hm. Weird. She is. 'Cause that's Ashton's height. And they look to be exactly the same height.
"Hey." Ashton greeted.
"Hey, I'm Stella."
"Hey Stella." I said.
"Enrique, I was wondering if I could get your number...?"
After a quick glance at Ashton, I nodded and gave her my number. "Here you are."
"Thanks!" Stella said as she walked off happily.
The whole drive to Ashton's house was made up of Ashton teasing me about Stella.
"You should have seen your face!" She exclaimed between laughs. "Like you couldn't keep your eyes in your head." She laughed some more as I just groan and roll my eyes. "I'm surprised you were even able to give her your number. But then again, I rarely see you talk to girls so who knows if you're ever nervous." She shrugged and looked out the window.
"Can we put on some music?"
"Don't be such a baby." She rolls her eyes but flicks on the radio anyways.
The song that was playing was just ending. The next song that came on was 'Despacito.'
Ashton's expression mirrors mine as our eyes both go wide. At the same time we look at each other and yell "I LOVE THIS SONG!" Since my parents are Spanish I speak it fluently. Ashton had been learning Spanish on Duolingo and I had taught her before so we sang in sync to the music both of us dancing in our seats. Guess the ride wouldn't be so long after all.
We got to the house and got straight to work on our homework at the kitchen table like the little angels we are. 3 hours and we finished.
Some how we ended up in the living room watching some random show that I can't even remember the name of. We payed almost no attention to the T.V because we were so cought up in planning our trip to the beach.
After kindly declining supper I got up to leave. Ashton walked me to the door like she always does. I pull her in close as I say "See you tomorrow." She hugs me back in reply. I pull back just enough to see her face and before I can stop myself, I'm kissing her again. Why do I keep doing that?! She's not my girlfriend! In the middle of the kiss the doors swings open and we both jump back, to James standing in the door.
"Oh my... What the?!"
Looks like we have some explaining to do.
Hey guys. Haven't updated in a while but here you go. Make sure to vote if you like it. It's really not the best chapter but I'm going to edit the whole book once its done...
