Sonic Boom X Ruby (OC)

Eggman Returns

A/N I don't own Sonic Boom.

Days went by and Sonic still tried to get Ruby to go out with him and everytime he asked it was always the same answer no. Ruby was currently out at the beach sitting on a recliner enjoying the sun rays and salty sea breeze.

Sonic was also sitting by Ruby's side, but surprisingly he wasn't bothering her because he was also enjoying the breeze and sun rays. Knuckles, Tails, Amy and Sticks were also at the beach with them enjoying the fun in the water.

The good moment was gone when Eggman and his army robots showed up.

"Awww look at what we have here. Sonic and his girlfriend sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G....."

Ruby got angry as Eggman taunted them. Amy got surprised by that statement.

"What Sonic and Ruby are together"

Sonic blushed from the embarrassment.

"We are not together you idiot!"

"What but..."

Eggman then and whispered something to his communicator watch. Sonic and his friends didn't know exactly what was going on but they got ready for anything.

The next thing they notice was that Shadow appeared on top of Eggman's machine and he looked way more mad then usual.

"Armybots attack!!"

Eggman yelled. Sonic and his friends started fighting with the robots but as for Ruby she started to slowly walk away from the battle. Until, Shadow reached her and pulled her roughly from the arm away from the fight scene.

"What do you think you're doing?"

"I'm working here, its just that he is making it a bit more complicated"

Ruby lied and Shadow growled.

"Or maybe you are just stalling"

"Oh please like if i was to actually play around with that idiot"

"You are here on a job not for to be fooling around"

"Come on Shadow, when I'm on a job I never play around"

The conversation was cut short, when Sonic saw Shadow holding on to Ruby's arm. Sonic then went super speed and punch Shadow. Sonic and Shadow went head to head but after a few minutes, Eggman called it in because half of his robot army was already destroyed.

"You have not seen the last of me yet Sonic"

Shadow then disappeared again along with Eggman. Sonic helped Ruby off the ground.

"Hey are you okay?"

"Fine just perfect"

Ruby said sarcastically while dusting the dirt off.

"What did Shadow say to you?"

"Nothing"

"Ruby"

"What can't you just leave me alone. I want to be alone."

Ruby then walked away heading back to Sonic and Tail's Shack. Sonic was confused Ruby was doing just fine earlier until Eggman and Shadow stepped into the picture and it appears Shadow said something to Ruby that made her have a change of attitude.

Sonic then followed Ruby wanting to get to the bottom of the situation. Sonic found Ruby in the back of their home starring off to the sunset.

"Ruby?"

But Ruby remained quiet.

"I let you cool off for a while, so now I think its time I get my answers. What did Shadow say to you?"

Again Ruby remained quiet.

"Was it about me? It has to be about me right? Because when you talk with someone other than me, you're smiling, laughing and talking. But when you talk to me, you give the cold shoulder, you be sarcastic and plus you be giving me the silent treatment like right now."

"....."

"Come on Ruby say something, anything"

Ruby then turned her head looking at Sonic.

"Why do you think everything is about you?"

"I didn't hear you say no and stop trying to change the subject"

"You think you know but you don't"

Ruby then turned back to look towards the sun disappearing into the horizon.

"You know something"

Sonic then got closer to Ruby and sat next to her, letting his legs dangled on the edge.

"The reason, I becoming after you is because nobody can get under my fur like you do. I don't know how to explain it but i just know that you're different."

"Thanks...I think"

Sonic smiled and looked into the horizon. Sonic then turned his face to Ruby and Ruby felt he was looking at her. She smiled and looked towards him.

"What?"

Sonic scratch the back of his head nervously.

"So a date tomorrow?"

"Sure why not"

"Really?"

"Of course I let you suffer long enough right"

They both chuckled and Sonic smiled

"Right"

They continued to look towards the night sky. After a while, they called it a night and said good night to each other.

*Next Day*
Sonic and Ruby were off on a date, they ate at Meh Burger and walked around the shoreline of the beach. They sat together looking at the waves. The whole time Ruby was uncomfortable the whole time, because guilt was starting to creep up on her.

"Sonic, I need to ask you something"
