Sitting on that pier with you on my left,
My legs dangling just inches over the icy water,
With your right arm around me.
You played with my hair.
I smiled to myself,
Slowly falling in love with
How your fingers rolled around little strands of my hair.
'What are you thinking?'
You asked tilting your head towards me,
I had your complete attention,
I was thinking about how I felt beyond euphoric
In that moment,
How I wanted to hold on to you forever,
But my tongue slipped,
'I love you."
It said,
When I hadn't even planned on it,
You just looked at me for a moment,
'I love you too.'
Now, that I remember it ,
After all this time
I realize there was a hint of panic in your eyes.
