It's 10 at night and mom still isn't home. I'll just go to sleep. She will be back and I know it. Just her job got in the way I guess.
Close your eyes Amy. This should be easy. Why can't my thoughts go away realllyyyy once I actually try to sleep. But what about that red head did she mean what she said. Oh and why did I laugh couldn't you hold it in.
Drip..drip....drip...drip
Is that the faucet. Just get up quickly and shut it off. Nope too far away and dark only my blanket and bed could protect me. Just do it. Let's look around the room. The closet, the pictures, my phone, my dresser, my makeup, my laundry basket, the balcony with big windows, and the plain beige walls. Shhhh wats that. There's a shadow. It's a mans shadow. He's watching me. It's fine he is outside the balcony. Pretend you don't see him and grab the pepper spray. Drip drip drip drip. First the faucet. Run to the bathroom lights where are the lights. They're on the faucet is fine. Stop panicking shhh.
The bathroom had no leaks....
Okay pepper spray where is it. I always keep it in the bathroom.
*where are you?* said a creepy whispered hush. he's inside the house
RUN!

I grabbed the bathroom handle and ran downstairs shouting for my parents. *DAD! MOM!*
*Silence*
I'm not dying not today. Just keep running. I grabbed my shoes unlocked the door and ran. I ran as fast as my feet could take me.
I'm not dying. Not today. Trees. Climb them. Go come on faster come on. Don't look back behind you or else. Come on climb.
I grab the branches boosting myself up. OW! A sharp pain pierces through my leg. I'm an idiot I never wore the shoes. Keep climbing it's fine once you reach the top he won't be able to grab you.

Flashback
*Its fine sweety kisses, okay jut breathe and you will win this competition.
I can do this I know so.
*mom where's my juice?*
*cherry drink coming right up*
*mom I'll be right back I want to talk with E*
She nodded I left.

*hey Erika are you holding up okay?*
Last night she showed me her cuts right before the tree climbing competition. I never knew being 12 could be so stressful. I had to win this but I also care about Erika and I'm an idiot for not knowing.
*Im fine* she smiled.
*Im not an idiot Erika. I know you aren't fine why lie to me? If anything fine means you aren't fine.*
*Listen Amy win this competition and I'll tell you.*

Okay Amy channel your 12-year old self and pretend that this is a competition of climbing trees. Second place ain't too bad.
Every step I take feels more painful than before. Why does it hurt so much. I heard distant shouts of a man and a woman. I needed help but I couldn't scream back. There was no sound coming out. Once I reached the top all I saw was blood. I had only one sock which was on the other foot. Even though it was dirty I had to wrap the wound. I ripped the sock to make it longer and put it on the freshly cut heel.
I put on the shoe for protection and stayed up there.
The woman and mans shouts grew louder. I wanted to call on them but I was too scared to. I didn't want to die. Not yet. All I could was hope they would save me. Only one thought rung in my head.
