Secrets Hidden Ch. 6 Reasons & Explainations

Keith's POV

"Not cool man." I punched him square in the jaw.

"Freak!" Evan blurts, and pushes me. I fall back just a few steps. I look at him in shock and anger.

"What the hell was that about?!?! My sister suddenly says you've been comanded to date her? You know what? Just stay away from her!" I yell. I was angry at the fact that this guy who was my best friend had the guts to use my sister.

"Let me explain." He says calmly.

I huff out a breath. "Two minutes, go," I stated. I so mad I could pummel him here. This is a hospital so if I got to beat him to death then they could take him to the corpse area. Seriously he was ordered to, sounds like our "business," got in the way.

"I really do like your sister but, the thing is. I- I can't say. Just keep your sister close to you. Your sister is a target to some assassins." Evan quietly said.

"You're saying someone is trying to assassinate my sister and you can't tell me who? I thought you were sided with the TBF's after we helped you." I angrily said with gritted teeth.

" I agreed to go along with what I was commanded to do because first off I don't want your sister dead, secondly I wanted to keep eyes out on who's out there. But assuming how she eavesdropped things might go bad." Evan hesitantly says.

Both Evan and I are apart of an assassinating crew called The Black Figure. TBF for short. It's a job that Sophia doesn't need to know about. Soph thinks I work at a casino, but I had to lie to her about me working there. Who knows what'd she do if she knew I was an assassin. Being able to hack computers, and networks was an easy skill. I wouldn't work at a casino with my brains.

"Who gave you this command?" I stared directly at him while asking. The boss of TBF was never known. All Evan, and I knew was that the TBF boss was trying to make many lives better. We are assassin's so we do kill, it's just the ones who don't deserve to continue living. But for my sister to be a target and how Evan had a direct order from someone he can't tell me seems very fishy. Boss would've let me know but Evan isn't telling me who told him so TBF's leader isn't who he got the order from.

"I'm sorry but I can't tell you. For the sake of everyone. Just watch her back and yours." Evan says with his head down. Not even three seconds but he decided on his own to leave. His retreating figure getting smaller in the distance.

I enter back into Sophia's room. I look at how beat up she is.

"Hey little princess," I greeted her as if nothing happened in the hall.

"Hey Keith, you haven't called me little princess in a few years. What's going on?" She cautiously says. With worry and fear in her eyes.

Ella gets up and leaves the room to let Sophia and I talk.

"There's no reason, just saying that because I miss calling you my little princess. Plus you've been beat up a bit. Why, do you prefer boxing chicken?" I smile as I walk towards her bed.

"No way!" She glares at me, "What happened to Evan?"

I knew this question was coming. "Well he had one rude awakening. You never mess with a Neverturn and get away with it. Ever. So right now he's off somewhere away from here." I partly lied to her.

She giggles then says, "Thanks Keith. I love you." She smiles then hugs me.

"I love you too sis," I hug her gently and pull back.

"So now my car is in the shop, you suck at driving." I say changing the moment. She looked horrified at first as if she remembered something that probably happened at school.

She then hides it by saying, "If I suck at driving then you suck at..." She hesitantly says, thinking of a skill I'm awful at.

"You have absolutely nothing on me. I'm just too good!" I brag.

"You suck at ping pong." She retorts.

"That's it? That's all you have?" I laugh.

"Shuddup!" She says as she turns away from looking at me.

"You should rest Soph. I'll see you tomorrow. Aunt Matilda is going to watch over you. I'm gonna head home with Uncle Charles." I inform her.

"Wait!" She says before I even get up off her bed side.

"What?"

"Promise me you'll visit every day. Because it's really boring in here." She sticks her pinky out.

"Fiiine." I huff out, "Only if you break up with Evan." I suddenly say and stick my pinky out.

"I knew you were gonna say something along the line of that." She looks down, "I'm okay with breaking up with him suprisingly. Let him know it's official that I'm not his anymore. Talk about shortest relationship ever," she laughs bitterly, and she pinky promised me.

"See ya Sophia, I'll make sure to drag Ella too, because I don't wanna be stuck to you all week." I tease her. She sticks out her tongue.

As I'm about to open the door Aunt Matilda pops in.

"I'll leave her in your care auntie." I smile at her at head to the care where Uncle Charles is waiting.
