Keith's POV
It is now Friday, Uncle Charles took me to school while my car is in repair. I didn't say much to him, as he drove me.
*******
I saw Evan that morning but why talk to him? He caused this mess and now he can't tell me who he got the order from? Screw it.
"Hey man!" Evan walked up to me as if nothing happened yesterday.
"Shut it Shield. And also my sister officially does not belong to you." I glared at him and went to class. That's how the day ended up. Me ignoring Evan and continuing with my day. Not to long the boring classes end and I go over to Ella.
"Hey, can I ride with you when you go visit Sophia?" I asked her. Yeah I could've asked my uncle to drive me, but Ella was here anyways.
"Uh - yeah sure. But I have a question first. What's up with you and Evan? Everyone's been talking about it non-stop." Ella says in a hushed tone as we head to her car.
"Nothing." I huff out and she stops me before we reach her car.
"Nah uh. You do the same thing Sophia does when somethings going on. Both of your eyes darken and you both huff out in annoyance." She says matter-of-factly. This girl, she knew Sophia way to much.
"Fine, okay. This stays between you and me, but first let's get in the car." I say to her quickly. If Evan was right then Sophia and the ones close to her must be a target. I can't risk anyone listening, plus, I felt eyes on us from somewhere.
~Later in the car~
We talked and I explained everything. And I mean everything. From me being a hacker, to Evan and I being assassins. I had to let some things off my shoulders. Something she didn't know is that Evan separated his feelings from his targets he was supposed to kill. I told her that too.
"You can't tell her though!" I looked over at Ella with a serious face.
"Fine. But an assassin?!?! Really?!? How does Evan keep his feelings away from killing people? It's just, difficult wouldn't it be? Like what if he had to kill Sophia?" She asked scared, I could tell she was afraid for my sister because her knuckles turned white as she drove. I ponder on what she just said. I don't even know the answer to that.
"I don't know," I replied in truth. And we ended up at the hospital as we finished off our conversation.
We got out of the car and headed for Sophia's room.
*****
"You!!! You're a butt nugget!!! You didn't text me all day!!!" Ella complains and rushes towards my sister and slams on the side if her bed.
I watch them as they converse in their odd conversation. I looked around to find Aunt Matilda, hmm, guess Uncle Charles came to pick her up. As soon as that thought comes my phone vibrates. It's a text from Aunt Matilda.
It read, "I'm at home getting refreshed, you wanna take over tonight?"
I sent her a text back saying, "Yeah, I'll take care of her. Just bring me clothes." I then turn off my phone and look at the girls.
Of course Ella had to do something stupid. She got some erasers out of her pockets and shoved them up her nose to make Soph smile. And trust me it worked.
Not long after the door to her room opened and there was the piece of crap that caused this.
"Hey, can I talk to you Sophia?" Evan asks slowly, afraid of what Sophia's words would be.
"Can we not." She states firmly in annoyance.
"Either way I'm talking to you. And Keith, you're not getting in the way. She needs to know the truth." Evan says aloud. Shoot, he's gonna screw this up.
"Wait. What truth?" She starts sitting up in her bed with the look of concern. Ella then looked down not wanting to be apart of this. She grabbed Sophia's hand, and looked at her with eyes saying don't worry.
Sophia smiled at Ella then looked back at us two,"Well you're brothers an-," I drag him our of the room like I did last night. This wasn't the time to tell her.

Ella's POV
I watched as Keith dragged Evan out of the room. I sat on Sophia's bed side looking at her.
She broke the silence, "What do you think Evan was gonna say? Why did Keith drag him out? Is there something going on?" She asked all to quickly.
I remember what Keith told me. For Sophia's protection I can't tell her.
"I don't know, we will have to wait and see." I knew the reason, but it isn't my place to explain. I rub her back and look at her. Her eyes had more grey in them than green, I could tell her mind was very clouded with thoughts.
"Hey, don't worry. Everything is going to be okay." I reassured her as we sat together.
The rest of the day we hung out in that room talking about the most random things. She told me a story about her and how a kid freaked out on a her during Halloween.
"So back when we were freshmens on Halloween night, I may or may not have tripped a few kids to steal some candy as I helped them up. There was this one kid in particular who I attempted to trip. Yeah, big mistake because I didn't pay attention to his costume and he chased me around the whole neighborhood with his wooden swords. Biggest scare of all!" She laughs thinking back.
I wish I had an adventurous life like her. But here I am lying to her and keeping secrets. What a friend right? We were silent for a while but once again she broke the silence.
"Was it right of me to break up with Evan?" She casually says. She shocked me, I wasn't expecting her to ask that but I guess I should tell imply a little bit of the truth.
"Yeah, he's bad for you. Please stay away." I warned her looking into her eyes.
"I should've stuck to my words. Not to long ago he pulled a move on me in the food court saying stuff, and I told him that I wouldn't ever be his. I should've stuck with what I said. I think I am now." She looks down and fiddles with her hands. Then heaves a sigh.
"Well if you're on the single list so am I!" I shout trying to lighten up the mood. She cracked a smile and soon Keith walked back in.
"Everything okay?" I ask.
"Yeah," Keith looks over at Sophia and I take that as my cue to leave.
"See you tomorrow Sophia," I hug her and walk to the door. Before I put my hand on the knob I shout, "REMEMBER SINGLE MARKET!" And I bolt right out laughing.
I went up to my car, I was about to open it up when a hand comes to my face from behind and a towel with chemicals is put over my mouth and nose. Before I knew it I was out. I knew it was a guy for sure, but it was too dark to see. The stinging sensation in my neck didn't help too.
