"Come on! How'd you guys get those powers?" Chess asked, questioning Guren Ichinose.

"Chess that's not gonna work." Annemarie said.

She'd been beating him for a while, and he spit out nothing but sass. For example, to reply to Chess, he said "A goddess gave them to me" with a smirk on his face.

"Well then you try it!" Chess whined.

She shrugged. "Okay. When you live with two master assassins and work for homeland security, you learn a few things. Then again, they didn't let me anywhere near the prison cells, but whatever."

However, she didn't get the chance since the window broke at that moment and they were attacked. "Wha- Argh!" Crowley said. He'd been attacked by...Yuichiro? "Huh? He seems strong then before."

"Crowley, do you need help?" Annemarie asked.

"Hm...No, don't trouble yourself over it. I'll be fine."

"Okay, I'll go take a walk in the garden then."

~oOo~

"Trai-!" Mika cut off that Vampire's last words with death. He was just outside the city hall, ready to storm in and take Yu back. Actually, Annemarie should be here too, he thought.

"Mika?" A voice asked. Speak of the Devil...

"Oh, hi Annie."

"What are you doing here? Wait, you're here for Yuichiro, right?" He nodded. "He's going a bit berserk in there, so don't go now. Wait till he's not trying to kill everything in sight. Actually, stay right here. I'll go tell Crowley not to kill him."

She went all the way back up to find that the battle was over and Yu was gone. "You're back already?" He asked.

"Where's Yuichiro?"

"Oh, the boy? He was taken back by his teammates. They need to be somewhere. Speaking of which, we should get moving too."

"Oh, you guys go without me." Annemarie said. "I need to go do something." She went back to Mika and told him what happened.

"Now what!?" Mika shouted. He was clearly upset.

"Follow me, I think I know where they're headed."

~oOo~

"Shinya! There are enemies up ahead!"

"Damn it! How many!?"

"Two!"

"We can take two. Everyone prepare to attack!"

"Mika, you're sure about this right?" Annemarie asked. He nodded. "Just so you know, if something goes horribly wrong, I will tease you about it for the rest of your life." She sighed. "Okay, let's go."

They rushed into battle passing scores of combatants paying them all no mind but to exchange blows to keep them at a distance. Then suddenly an illusion enveloped them and their legs appeared to be melting. "It's an illusion." Mika told a scared Annemarie. She calmed down. "Come on, we need to push forward." With much effort, they broke out of the smoke and even closer to their goal.

However, with them outnumbered one to thirty, it was a hard battle to pull through and by the time they were close to the back, they hesitated for a second seeing their loved ones. Mika saw Yu in the back being carried by his friends. Annemarie saw her father and his team supporting each other to get through. "Focus!" She told herself.

They had reached the back. Annemarie held off all six Avengers as Mika went to go retrieve Yu. This is harder then I imagined it'd be, she thought. The odds definitely weren't in her favor.
