December 25, 2012. Today this world will end. The Avengers were on guard, and with the new information that Annemarie was still out there, they spent Christmas looking for clues. However, they couldn't find anything, even when they had the name "Ky Luc" they could search through SHIELD's servers.

But this didn't bring them down, they only tried harder. Nothing could break their focus. Well, except for the plane crashing outside and the sound of screams. They look out of the window with horror. Almost everyone on the streets were dead, except for the occasionally child, around ten years old.

"Well damn." Tony said. "There really was an mass murder."

Annemarie woke up in her bed with a concerned Urd Geales sitting next to the bed on a chair. "What happened?" She asked.

"Ky Luc carried you back here. You fell unconscious, which is a problem."

"What's the problem?"

"Although you are the First Progenitor, you still have attributes of a human even though by now, usually all traces of your humanity should be gone. It seems like you retained a human personality, sense of pain and mind. Not to mention, like humans you also need sleep."

"That aside, what's today's date?"

"The twenty-sixth."

"Then-!"

"The curse has spread, and humans have paid the price."

"Do you know what happened to my dad and his friends?"

"...If they really are modified human beings, they have survived."

"And Clint? He's a normal human but I put a capsule with my blood in it inside his body."

"He will survive. But remember that your blood has a very alluring scent. It would be best for him to remove as quickly as possible and dispose of it properly if he wants to evade our forces."

"What are our forces doing?"

"We are gathering the remnants of the human species and bringing them to the nearest stronghold to them in order to secure our food supply."

"Can I...can I go get my dad and his friends personally?"

"I won't say no, but I will say it's not a wise decision."

"I'm going." She hopped out of bed and, still where her hoodie and leggings, walked out the door.

The Avengers, for better or worse, found they they were actually quite prepared for this kind of situation. There was enough food to last them a year, and the Tower was powered by green energy which could easily be harnessed. They found as many children, now orphans, as they could and gathered them in the Tower. This was good because soon, monsters started to roam the Earth.

The Avengers routinely took turns between taking care of the kids, sleeping, and killing the ones that got too close to the Tower. This peace barely lasted a day. This peace ended when Annemarie showed up once again.

She walked through the front door and took the elevator up to the floor where they all were and was greeted by the scared and surprised faces of children, along with Steve, Tony, and Bruce. "Hi dad." She said.

By now, the kids had scrambled behind the three Avengers. "Annemarie!? Where were you!? And, and why are you're eyes red? Unless...You..."

Annemarie gave a small smile. "Yeah, I'm a Vampire." The kids started to scream, not comprehended that Annemarie was not here to attack, only that she was a Vampire, and that Vampires were scary predators.
