Heeey fellow readers! First and foremost, this is my first story so I apologize for any spelling or grammatical errors. Second, I do accept constructive criticism, but hate is uncalled for. If you don't like my story, okay. Leave. Don't leave hateful comments, please. And third, if you have read this far you are awesome and I hope you continue to do so! (:

Chapter 1

I am fearless. I am strong. And I most certainly don't believe in stories.

Especially the one my buddy, Cole, is telling my group of friends who are surrounding a campfire with me.

He's such a goofball.

He's the type of guy who can be serious one minute, and then have you grabbing your stomach from laughter the next.

His face looks serious. At least it does from what I can tell. The flames that are licking at the crisp, fall air, provide our only source of light.

"...But be careful. For if you enter the door, the devil himself will grab you into his grip, and eat your brains out!"

"Boooo!" Another friend of mine, Aaron, yelled.

"That was the worst story ever!" Aly spits out, between bursts of laughter

"Why am I dating you again?" Kareana asks, as she's smiling at the horrible tale Cole entertained us with.

"Because you love me," Cole retorted with a smirk.

"Ew get a room, guys." Michelle says.

"Be careful though! For if you open the door, the devil himself will eat your brains out!" I added.

"I am your brains," Aaron said.

"Well then we're screwed," Kareana replied.

We sounded over the scorching fire with our laughter. Our light laughter and the dying flames is all that can be heard. Except for the occasional sounds of mother nature out here in the woods. Kareana thought spending a couple nights in the middle of nowhere with each other would be a great way to bond.

We decided to start our fire and camp on a hill that contains a lake to the left and few trees. Further to the right the trees become more dense. It's quite beautiful, actually. The way the trees spread out for the hill and lake.

We had to walk for about 45 minutes to get here. We don't exactly have a set destination, just camping in the woods. Hopefully someone has a GPS to help get our way back to our cars, that happen to be left in an abandoned park's parking lot. Most people would be creeped out, but my friends and I enjoy the lack of civilization.

It is pitch black out, except for the flames that are now about extinguished. Cole and Aaron are doing their best to keep it alive, but it's difficult to get a steady fire going from damp driftwood that we found on the lake's edge.

Kareana, Aly, and Michelle are setting up 3 tents about 10 feet away from the fire. Aly and I are sharing a tent, Kareana and Michelle are in the next, and then that leaves Aaron and Cole in the last one.

I pulled out my phone and checked the time. It glowed back, "Monday, Aug 04 2014; 9:37 PM." There is a little over 3/4 of the battery left, so I turn off my phone, and slide it back into my pocket. Hopefully it'll last until we get back home. There are 9 days until we go back to school the following Wednesday. Gross.

We're all dreading the return to school. Aaron will be a senior, Cole, Aly, Michelle, and myself will be starting our junior year, and Kareana is going to be a sophomore. Our plan is to end our summer with an unforgettable last week and a half.

Oh. It's something we'll remember all right.

Plan for future updates: I will try to get one at least once a week, maybe more. But please, be patient!

I hope you're enjoying the story. Please vote and comment! It would be greatly appreciated!

P.S.: I'm going to have a contest type thing. Make me a cover! Must include my name and the title (shown on current cover). Whoever makes the best one will get a shoutout in upcoming chapters!

Good readings! *tips hat and dances into sunset* (;
