Yosh. Break time.
How do you define perfect? Perfect is a phenomenon that happens when your crush is looking at you with such gorgeous eyes and says "Nice to meet you for the third time."
"Nice to meet you too. Are you half-Japanese?" I asked the question I'm most curious about at the moment.
"Hai. Hajimemashite!"
"Sore wa subarashii kotodesu."
It feels nice that we have something common. Having such connection makes me feel like the "red thread" exists between us. Well, I'm just assuming.
"Are you going to the canteen?" asked Xavier.
"Oh. Yeah." Ugh. I totally forgot about my new friends. I'm horrible. I need to pull myself together.
"Do you want to come with us, Chiba-san?" I asked Ryan.
"Sure. Oh. By the way, you can call me by my first name." Ryan replied to me as he gets up from his seat.
"You can call me by my first name too if you want." I told him while smiling.
We started walking towards the canteen.
"Hey guys, just let me interrupt you okay? What's the big deal about calling each other by first names? asked Angel.
"Angel, don't you read manga or something?" Kate asked Angel.
"It's alright. Let me explain. The way in which a name is used in conversation depends on the circumstances and the speaker's relationships with the listener and the bearer of the name. Typically the family name is used, with given names largely restricted to informal situations and cases where the speaker is older than, superior to, or very familiar with the named individual. When addressing someone, or referring to a member of one's out-group, a title such as -san is typically added. Japanese will find it rude if they will be called by their first names without honorifics." I explained to everyone.
"I see. You're both Japanese huh?" Asked Angel.
"Yup." Ryan and I said at the same time.
"Angel, you may want to read manga and watch anime. Doing so is really fun. I assure you." I invited Angel.
"I'll try when I get the time." Angel said.
"I like anime and manga too." Xavier informed us.
"Oh yeah? What anime series is your favorite?" Ryan asked Xavier.
"Hunter x Hunter my favorite. Killua and Gon totally rock! Don't you agree?" Xavier said.
"That's pretty cool. I love that series too. I love the Chimera Ant Arc. It was so interesting. What about you guys?" I said.
"Well, I have watched some episodes and it seems interesting enough but I didn't have the time. I was so busy following the updates about other anime and manga." Kate said.
"Hmm. I have to agree that the Chimera Ant Arc was awesome." I told Xavier.
"So I'm surrounded by a bunch of anime fanatics?" Angel asked us.
We started laughing.
"Hey, Angel I'm sure you can catch up. Anime and manga are pretty awesome." I winked at her.
"Ew, that's gross." Angel said.
We ended up laughing again.
We entered the canteen and find ourselves a place to sit. The eyes of every girl in the canteen seems to be glued to Ryan. Well, what can you expect? He's tall, handsome. Ugh. There I go again.
"Hmm. How about two of us buy our snacks and the others wait here in our seats?" I suggested.
"Fine with us. Right guys?" Kate asked the others.
"Yeah" the others replied.
"I volunteer!" Angel said.
"Is this Hunger Games?" I asked.
Everyone laughed. It feels so nice to get along well with everyone.
"I'll go and help you Angel." Xavier said.
"Thanks." Angel said.
"Wait for us guys." Xavier said.
"Every girl in the canteen seems to be looking this way. Is it because of you Ryan?" Kate asked.
"What are you talking about? It's not like that I guess." Ryan said.
"Well , you seem to be the popular type. Don't you think so Kate?" I said.
"Yup. I bet he's popular in high school." Kate said.
"So yeah. How about we get to know each other later when those two come back?" Kate suggested.
"Sure." I said.
"Yeah" Ryan said.
Notes:
Hai means yes.
Hajimemashite means nice to meet you.
Sore wa subarashii kotodesu means that's great.
