"You may now kiss the bride."Everyone cooed and smiled at the now Mr and Mrs Scott Brownwell. The pair of them smiled and held hands, Scott occasionally kissing his wife on her cheek, smiling constantly. They were the perfect couple.
Even with not having his vows done within the last hour before they got wed, Scott's vows made even me cry. And my parents and Carter. There seem to not be a dry eye in the house once Scott had started saying his vows to the beautiful Kelly, standing opposite him. He knew exactly what to say to her and I could tell she fell even more in love with him than she ever had.
As the newly weds made their way through the marquee and to the garden where the evening would proceed, I stood up the front, staring out at them. Not moving, just remembering every single detail that happened right before my eyes. From the moment I walked down the isle, smiling and Carter looking at me, smiling his toothy grin and almost crying at my apparent beauty.
I had reached the front when Kelly walked down the isle with her father. I stared at Scott, who was in awe of what he saw. He's beautiful soon to be wife walking down the isle in a beautiful off-White dress, with an off the shoulder style sweetheart neckline. Fall length which ended at the floor. Her beautiful hair was up, in some fancy braids and buns with various pearl like pins to keep it up.
Scott;s eyes filled and he started to cry at what he was seeing. He was sure to be a very lucky man. I turned and faced Kelly, her eyes were too starting to water. They were perfect, amazing and everything about them screamed soul mates.
From the moment Kelly walked down the isle to the moment they said 'I do', I was incredibly happy for them both. Nothing could ruin their wedding, everything was perfect and set. An outdoor wedding, various fairy lights and flowers were all around us, as night fall happened. Drinks had been served and toasts were being said. Various people started chatting amongst themselves until it came turn for Carter to say he's best mans speech.
I silently ate my cake, sipping on the wine that was around on the table. I took my time today, drinking. I didn't want to go hard and then pass out and ruin my best friends and brothers wedding. I couldn't do that to them. I seem to have maybe become an alcoholic this weekend, but I blamed that on Carter and the stress he put on me. But right this minute, this very second, I was drinking to the newlyweds. I was drinking for their happiness, for their future and hopefully for their future children.
I was snapped out of my drinking my wine by the microphone.
"Excuse me ladies and gentlemen." Carter tapped on the microphone quickly and got everyone's attention. Conventions came to a halt and everyone's attention was on Carter, ready and prepared for his speech for my brother. He placed the drink down in his hand.
Reaching into his jacket pocket, he grabbed out a piece of paper. "Thank you for attending the beautiful Union of Mr Scott Brownwell and the now Mrs Kelly Brownwell." He smiled as he thanked every in attendance. "Most of you may know me from films like a flop called Transformers or even the blockbuster musical Hamilton." He joked with the crowd.
Laughter erupted around the reception.
"Yes, I can joke about my career. But I'm here not to talk about that, although the I did hear I'm getting a tony nomination for Hamilton." A few cheers from the crowd came around. "Enough about me, I'm here this amazing weekend to celebrate my best friend, my childhood friend getting to marry his best friend. Guys, it's not me. I'm totally straight."
More laughter erupted.
"When I found out he was going to propose to Kelly, I had flown myself to London to help him. Not only is he my best friend, but also my brother. He told me how he fell in love with his beautiful bride, I wished I had realised I had loved someone like Kelly. If Scott didn't put a ring on her, I'm pretty sure I would have." He laughed and looked at the pair. "But my love was with someone else. Regardless of that fact, Kelly is extremely lucky to how found such a great goofball like Scott here."
