Unforgotten

Chapter 5

We left the next day after gathering some more supplies and clothes from his house.

"It was nice seeing you again, Avery. I hope everything goes well with your father."

"Thank you, Mrs. Peers. It was nice to see you, too."

Riley closed the door and we headed for the Colorado Springs.

We got to the car, he opened the door for me and took my bags to the trunk. He got in on the drivers side and glanced at me,

"We are going to be on this road for a while." Riley stated.

"Hey, you know, at least we're together."

He smiled and took my hand in his.

That night, we camped out on the outskirts of Colorado Springs. Riley made a fire and put our tent up. After we talked for a few hours, Riley got tired and got up to go bed.

"Goodnight, babe. Try not to be stay up out here too late worrying, okay? I'm leaving this open while you're out here, so I'll be able to see you from inside. Nothing will hurt you."

"Okay, love. I'll be there shortly."

As soon as he walked in, I pulled around my backpack and got out the diary I found earlier. I figured that it would give me some insight to my previous life. As I assumed, I wrote about Riley - a lot. As I flipped through, one entry stood out above rest.

April 28, 2013

Riley Andrew Peers. Love of my life. I would talk to him all day everyday if I could. There are so many things about him that make just him amazing. I could make an ongoing list if I thought hard enough. 

He's funny, charming, caring, loving, nerdy, adorable, true to himself, selfless, non-judgmental, a great person...

it really does go on and that's why I love him so much. Riley is the only one that can make me smile when I want to cry. He's my best friend, my everything. I know that no matter what, he will always be there. I love him with all of me...

I felt tears running my face. I love Riley and now I understood why during our re-meeting I felt safe, and secure. Although my head didn't know, my heart did. Riley is my forever, and I need him. I wiped away the tears and prepared to close my diary when some loose paper fell out. I picked up and read them.

March 1

Baby, you are my everything, my entire life, world and universe. Your smile is the sun that brightens up my day. My love for you is bigger than the moon and more. You are my light in the dark and my strength when I am weak. Please don't ever forget how much you mean to me. I wrote this just to remind you everyday: you are my lover for life and I would be nothing without you.

As Romeo once said, "My lady as fair as the moon giving us light in the dark of the night and as beautiful as the sun as it lightens up the heaven every morning" But then again Romeo hasn't seen you.

I wake up and adore you more every day. You. Your smile. Your laugh, and your beautiful eyes. There isn't a thing about you that isn't amazing and wonderful. It's why I love you, you have so many amazing, beautiful and flawless qualities. Its endless, just like my love for you. My best friend, my partner in crime, and my other half. You make me a better person.. Happy Valentine's Day, my love. I love you.
