Homosexuality lives in the animal kingdom too!
In some species like the Japanese macaques (a type of monkey), it is the norm.
Even lions, donkeys and penguins have shown traces of homosexuality. Of course there are more species, but there's reasoning behind this. Homosexuality among animals can assure that if the hetero parents aren't there to take care of the baby (In case they abandon them or die) a homo couple would be happy to take them in.
Also it figures out issues of overpopulation in that species. These same reasons can be applied to the human world too, so homophobia being a thing is something humans and only humans made up.
