Reshu
I am seriously going crazy. All events I had managed till now were kind of flashy and now this seminar is making me go numb. Actually it's not entirely the seminar, its Yash. 24/7 I just keep repeating the mail he wrote. It had been a week and there has been no new mail from him. I felt annoyed, expected him to bombarded my inbox with mails. For past 7 days I have been checking my account every hour to be disappointed. Did I make him wait too much? Has he given up on me? I covered my face in frustration, why he had to come back and mess with my brain. 'Really weren't you waiting for him? 6 years, there hasn't been a single day you haven't thought about him'
Yes, that's true. Yash had become an integral part of my life. His way of dealing things and situations were amazing. Unlike many guys who would lose control Yash would be calm. Debates , fights was not his thing. He believed in solving things through dialogues. Infact it was me who would get into all kinds of trouble. But one thing I was sure of , even if I was at fault Yash would never leave my side.
One of Yash's classmates Manjeet hated our friendship. It would pass lewd comments and spread rumor about us. It never bothered us. But one day he crossed all his limits. Manjeet was a pervert, he had a bad habit of ogling girls at all wrong places. He had been warned by many but he cared less. He felt talking crude is the cool thing , you can be a dude with that. He would brad about his affairs and number of girls he had been with. In his opinion , he knew all about female species. He could easily write a thesis on girls behavior, character and her history with guys by mere observation of their anatomy. People avoided him and ignored his words , but he had another annoying habit and that was pulling hair of the girls. This he would specifically do with girls who wouldn't react to his stupidity or were too timid to confront him. His biggest fault, he tried it on me.
Me and Yash had a daily ritual of meeting for a tea after the first half of our classes. That afternoon while having tea with Yash I was briefing him on one of my callous business ideas. As expected he sat there , listening to me patiently. There were many in the cafeteria that time when Manjeet walked in with his cheap friends. Passing by our table he banged it once; ''Hi Sissy'' He addressed Yash who just smiled and turned his eyes to me. I was angry and wanted to punch him, but stopped because of Yash , he blinked once asking me to relax. Manjeet felt insulted the way Yash ignored him. He invited himself to join us; ''So may I know what you guys are discussing so lost in each other''
Yash was about to reply but I did before him; ''Oh! Very interesting topic it's about how Manjeet shits his mouth'' I was quite loud. Manjeet's expression was treat to watch and others left all their discussions and food with their attention completely on me. Manjeet looked around and then leaned on his chair trying to be casual and uncaring; ''Oh really!! So what were your conclusions''
Yash held his head , he knew my answer but he didn't stop me; ''Its simple, we concluded That Manjeet keeps eating shit all day long . Hence, he keeps shitting his mouth and others time as well''
I heard loud chuckles , Manjeet was mad with rage; ''The problem is that you are one desperate soul Reshu. Your words prove that you are desperate for my attention but you aren't getting any from me''. He pushed back his chair ready to leave, he was irritated and the chuckles behind us were rubbing his wounded ego bad. ''Manjeet, Shit is meant to be flushed off just like you. Scoot'' Manjeet left huffing in anger. Some seniors patted my back but Yash kept sitting there holding his head; ''What? Aren't you happy I gave him back''
''Was it required'?'' he asked. ''Are you scared of him'' I answered him with a question. Yash leaned on the table; ''Resh, does he matter? No right. Then why give him importance. Just ignore. No one takes him seriously''
''no one confronts him and its because of this he takes the liberty to insult or blabber about anyone. Yash sometimes I feel you are a coward'' Yash smiled at me as if I was a 10 year old girl. ''How many people are there in this world'' I gaped at him; ''Why are you discussing world population now Yash''
