Yash,

''Alia stop there!'' Resh's voice echoed the corridor as she chased our 2 year old around the house. It has been seven years since the beginning of our happily ever after and now we have 2 additions to our small world. Aman and Alia , we decided to go with names which are common in both communities. Though, we never faced any issues still we wanted to avoid any sought of clashes. We are making our kids learn all good about both communities.

Aman is the calm one, he is 5 and kind of curious. Not to mention the influence of his 2 highly learned grandfathers. Yes, we now live together. After 2 years of wedding I had decided to shift her parents to Delhi, they turned lonely after the wedding of their only child. We bought a property next to our house and got two house moulded in to one. Our parents now reside in the ground floor while we in the first. We make sure to have our meals together.

A smashing sound made me jump, keeping the laptop aside I ran to the open veranda next to our room to find the pickle jar scattered in pieces all over the floor. Alia stood at a corner with a naughty smile, her finger between her teeth and her mother huffing in anger. Making my way, I lifted my girl up, ''Resh its okay, she is a kid.''

''Oh really! All this mess looks kiddish to you. All your fault, who asked you to pray for one like me.''

''I'll get it cleaned." I tried calming her down

''Do you have any idea how hard mom and ammi worked to prepare it and now this brat messed all of it. You will not get to play today, do you hear me.''

Alia turned her eyes to me, giving me her best puppy look. She has taken all from her grandmothers. Sharp features , innocent eyes and oozing cuteness. But in her activities she is the upgraded version of Resh. I was about to reply when the terrace echoed with the worried voices of our parents, ''OMG, is Alia fine.'' Mom asked.

''What will happen to her? I pity the jar.'' That got Resh a slap on her head from Ammi.

''Don't talk like that, we can make more pickle and did your forget your days. You were far more destructive, a real devil. Alia is just a kid.'' Resh rolled her eyes locking them with mine, I was trying with all my might not to laugh as Ammi kept remind her about all she broke during her growing years. Well that's a kind of daily story in our house

''Dadi!'' My smart little girl jumped to the first option of escape. Mom gathered her in arms and walked out with Ammi making plans to make new pickles. Once our parents walked out, I took a step to Resh, ''Its okay, relax''

''Really! I am still saying, put her in some pre-school, she will learn to behave.'' Resh had been quite adamant about that, but our parents had turned it down. Aman too hand been taught initially by them and they are happy doing it for Alia. The problem is, with Alia they are just too forgiving and lenient and the girl is too smart to know where she is safe.

''Ready to go ?'' I asked my 5 year old son, who descended the stairs one at a time dressed in a crisp steel grey school uniform. He nodded with a smile , after giving everyone a hug he held my hand to leave for school.

''Reshu you are too strict with Alia, this way you will turn her rebellious.'' When I came back I found Ammi explaining my adamant wife. She gave a side glance to our daughter, as if warning her . Alia quickly made her way to hide behind Ammi making Ammi scold reshu all the way more.

''That girl looks innocent but isn't even a bit.'' Reshu said as she settled on the bed into my arms

''She will learn, and her naughtiness keeps our house cheerful. '' Resh was about to retort when we heard the loud wailing of Aman from the adjoining room. We jumped out running to the kids room to find Aman crying holding his nose and Alia standing on his bed with her toy racket. Reshu rushed to Aman, pulling him in her lap she cooed the little boy, ''Mom she hit me with that, my nose hurts.''
