Chapter 4

Parang patay gutom si Nica sa dami ng inorder nya, good for 4 people ata. Hindi naman sya ganun katakaw pero pagkain ang pampaalis ng stress nya like most people out there.

Hindi pa rin nya makalimutan ang nanyari kagabi. Paano naman nya kasi makakalimutan yun e, first time nya yun. Ni hindi nya nga binigay yun kay Ethan e, hindi naman sa Maria Clara sya masyado. It’s just that hindi pa sya ready before. Ang tanong ready ba sya kagabi?

Isang malaking sigh ang pinakawala nya sabay subo ng malaking piraso ng pancake. Gusto nyang iblock lahat ng negative thoughts. Nagpasya syang magconcentrate na lang sa pagkain tapos aabalahin nya ang sarili nya sa pamimili ng mga pasalubong later.

“Hey! Can I join you?” Dahan-dahan nyang inangat ang mukha at laking gulat nya ng makita ang lalaking kasama nya kagabi sa harapan nya. Shit! Sa dinami dami ng tao sa Bora di nya inexpect na makikita nya ito ulit after last night.

Hindi na nito inantay na sumagot sya. Umupo na to sa harapan nya.

“Mukhang gutom ka a…” Sabi nito habang nakatingin sa mga pagkain nya. “You should have wait for me to dress up…di sana sabay na lang tayo.” Nakangiti ito sa kanya.

Pinili nyang deadmahin na lang ito. Patuloy lang sya sa pagkain.

“Hey! Magsalita ka naman…I’m talking to you…” Patuloy pa din ito sa pagkausap sa kanya.

“Bora is the place to be right? Is it your first time here?...” Hindi nya to sinagot. “Hey! You want to go to this spa…I heard ok daw dun…you’ll feel so relax daw after. And then, we---”

Nainterrupt sa pagsasalita si Migs ng padabog nyang binagsak ang fork nya sa plato. Nawalan na sya ng gana. Super FC nitong guy na to ah…! Di na nakakatuwa!

“You know what I hate the most, yung mga taong medyo manhid…”

“Well sorry for that…Miss…? What’s your name na nga…” Hindi ito natinag sa pagtataray nya. Sa halip inilapit nito ang mukha sa kanya sabay nginitian sya.

She must admit super gwapo nitong guy na to. Those eyes were really captivating. Pero di sya papadala.

“You haven’t tell me your name yet, babe…” Palambing nitong sabi.

“Well, gwapo sya pero obviously chick boy…I won’t fall for that again…” Sabi ng isip nya.

Huminga sya ng malalim bago nagsalita.

“I hate repeating myself over and over…but since obviously, di mo naabsorbed yung mga sinabi ko…I have no choice…”Huminga sya ng malalim. “I have no intentions of being friends with you…Obviously, I’m not interested for a second round.”

“Well, technically babe, we’ve had a second round already...it’ll be the fifth if ever…” pilyong sagot nito sa kanya.

Grabe! He’s getting into her nerves. Pero this time she acts cool. Di sya papatalo. She knows exactly what kind of guy he is. Inilapit nya ang mukha dito. Konting space na lang ang distance nya dito at maglalapat na ang lips nila. She smiled mischievously.

“You know what…you’re sooo handsome…sexy? Yes…hmmm…definitely!... But, I don’t want to hook up… you’re not GOOD ENOUGH…” Nakita nyang napalitan ng pagkagulat na may halong pagkairita ang mukha ng nito. Yes! Sapul!haha! Nag-enjoy sya sa reaction nito.

“So PLEASE, stop bothering me…because I’m not interested…Isipin mo na lang nakajackpot ka…!” Sabay tayo nya. “No hard feelings.” Nginitian nya pa ito bago tuluyan umalis.

Whoah! He’s ego was hurt. Not good enough! Siya pa lang ang nagsabi sa kanya nun a…At paano nya malalaman na not good enough e first time nya yun. That was the first time na may babaeng nagturn down sa kanya ng ganun. Well, hindi pala since he was rejected by Elise. Pero there’s a difference between the two scenarios. She’s pursuing Elise because he loves her. This chick, not really pursuing…more of he just wanted to have some fun while he’s here. Never pang sya ang naghabol sa babae after doing “that”. It is always the girls begging for more.

That girl was really something. She’s hard to figure out. Challenge ito para sa kanya pero ang  question is bakit pa sya machachallenge e in fact, he already slept with her at sabi nga nya “jackpot” pa sya.

“Oh well I did my best to be friend with her or at least to be nice. Sya tong pa-hard to get… Can’t do anything about it…after all sabi nga nya, it’s not like we’ll bump into each other often.” He thought pero deep inside there’s a small part of him aching to know her more. Maybe he just doesn’t want to let it go ‘cause of his ego. 

However, he decided against it…Never syang namilit, except for Elise. And besides, she’s just a girl. If it’s not a big deal for her, then it shouldn’t be a big deal for him as well.

Alas 3 ng hapon ang flight ni Nica pabalik ng Manila. Kasalukuyang nakaupo na sya sa plane and in just a few, lilipad na sila. Reality check… pagbalik nya wala pa din syang trabaho and worst kelangan nyang harapin ang daddy nya. Katakot-takot na sermon na naman. Back to the real world na sya. Tapos nagbitbit pa sya ng alalahanin pagbalik sa Manila. What if I get…She blocked the thought immediately.

“No! I shouldn’t be bothered by that. What happened in Bora, stays in Bora. It shouldn’t be remembered. And besides, napakaliit ng chance na makikita ko sya ulit and if I do, I’ll just act casual…And I’m not gonna get pregnant..period.”

With that, she decided to just push other thoughts away and concentrate on what she’s going to do next…with her life.
